Alex's POV
I leaned back in my chair, fingers drumming against the desk as I glanced over at Mark. His eyes were locked on the chalkboard, but I could tell his mind was elsewhere. It was on her.
Ariana.
I couldn't help but smirk as I watched her from the corner of my eye. She was nothing like Ethan—no, she was far more... interesting. But she didn't matter. Not really.
What mattered was what she represented. And who she was related to.
"Ethan's cousin," I muttered, just for emphasis, letting the words sink in. I didn't need to say more. Mark was already on the same page.
Mark's gaze shifted toward me, the cold green of his eyes assessing, calculating. "You sure this is gonna work?" he asked, his tone skeptical.
I shrugged, trying to keep my own confidence in check. "She's already walking in here like she owns the place. She's just like Ethan—bold, confident. But she doesn't know the game." I let out a low chuckle, the plan already forming in my head. "She'll be perfect for it."
Mark raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching as if he was unsure whether I was joking. "So, we use her to get back at Ethan?"
I nodded slowly, locking eyes with him. "Exactly. We turn her against him, make her trust us, and then when she least expects it... we make sure Ethan gets the message. It'll break him."
Mark leaned forward, folding his arms. "And how exactly do we get her to play along?"
I paused, watching Ariana again. She didn't even know it yet, but she was already a pawn in a much bigger game. "First, we get to her. I'll handle that part. She's curious about me, and that'll work to our advantage." I let the words settle in the air before continuing. "We'll use Diego, too. He's been keeping his distance, but he'll be useful. We just need to keep her on her toes. Make her trust me."
"And what if she doesn't bite?" Mark asked, his tone skeptical.
"She will," I said with finality. "She's just like her cousin. She'll want revenge, too. She doesn't know it yet, but she'll want to make Ethan pay. And we'll be right there, ready to offer her a way to do it."
Mark studied me for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I'm in. But you'd better make sure this works. You don't want to play with fire and get burned."
I smiled, my expression dark and calculating. "Trust me. This will be a storm Ethan won't see coming."
