Chapter-132 Karate

David's POV

["How is she?"] Percy asked over the phone.

"She looked terrified when I found them. I thought she was the one who got stabbed because of all the blood, but it turns out she had only hugged Rory," I explained.

At first, I thought it was just a simple school fight—two schools at odds with each other. But then I heard one of them mention Keifer's name and call her his girlfriend.

It's a good thing I followed my instincts.

When I found Jay-jay, she was sitting on the floor, frozen, staring at her blood-covered hands, surrounded by a group of guys. Meanwhile, Rory was deathly pale, still trying to fight back even though he looked like he was about to collapse.

If I hadn't arrived, who knows what could have happened to them?

["Why did this happen?! What kind of stupidity did Keifer do this time to get Jay-jay involved?!"] Percy asked angrily.

I wasn't sure, but I had a strong feeling that the enemies Keifer made in the past were coming back for him—especially now that Ram no longer held the throne or had any power.

"It looks like they want to use Jay-jay to get back at Keifer."

["Ha! That Keifer really has no brain!"]

"What are you planning to do?"

["Nothing for now. But when I get back, Yuri better be ready for me."] He said before ending the call.

Damn.

It looks like his anger toward Yuri just got even worse.

I don't know the full story of what happened between them. I don't want to meddle, and it's not my style to be nosy. But I do know that Yuri owes him something. Meanwhile, Keifer pisses him off because of Jay-jay. He never mentions Aries, though.

Maybe one day, I'll find out exactly what happened between them.

I was about to head back inside the hospital when I saw my classmates coming out.

I spotted Rory and Ci-N sitting in wheelchairs, while Keifer and Yuri were helping Jay-jay walk.

Watching them, I couldn't help but think of Ella.

The same history is repeating itself—with the same section and the same person.

I just hope Jay-jay can accept the true nature of those two... and of everyone in Section E when things start to fall apart.

Jay-jay's POV

"Karate! Karate!" Ci-N shouted repeatedly while kicking the air.

I swear, I'm about to slap him!

He's like a broken record. My ears are about to go deaf. I think I've lost all my patience already. Damn it!

Mayo mentioned that it would be better if they at least taught me some self-defense. At the very least, I should be able to run and call for help.

But they still won't let me fight back, even though I can.

Pfffttt... So unfair!

"Karate! Karate!"

I ended up just slapping my own forehead in frustration over his antics.

We were sitting outside a classroom. I was perched on one of the benches stacked in front of us.

"Ci-N!" I called out. "...I swear, if you don't stop, I'll karate-chop the back of your head!"

The idiot finally stopped, scratching his head as he walked toward me.

"Keifer is taking too long," he complained.

"Oh, please! Don't expect that bastard to be on time. He's worse than a principal when it comes to arriving late."

Ci-N just shrugged.

I glanced at the time on my phone.

It was still early, and there were no classes today since the teachers had a meeting.

By accident, I looked up at the rooftop of the main building.

I just realized that you could see it clearly from here, even though it was a bit far.

And there was someone up there...

Who could that be?

She seemed to be looking at me and Ci-N.

I was sure she was a girl since she was wearing a female uniform.

"Do you see that?" I asked, pointing at the rooftop with my lips.

"Hm?" He looked at where I was pointing. "...Yeah, why?"

"Nothing... I was just asking."

"That's Ella," he answered nonchalantly while picking at something on his finger.

"Ella? How do you know?"

"She always does that... She even used to wave at me before."

Oh, right. They used to be friends. But I just couldn't understand why Ci-N seemed so indifferent about their past friendship.

"D-did something bad happen between you two? Why don't you talk anymore?"

He glanced at me briefly before returning to what he was doing.

"She did something to me," he said, looking back at the rooftop.

Ella was still there, watching us. She had someone with her now, and I had a feeling it was Aries.

"What did she do?"

"Her classmates hurt me, and she didn't do anything about it. I even asked her for help, but she looked away."

His voice carried sadness.

That must have been painful for him.

He asked a friend for help, but she just ignored him.

"And that wasn't the only thing," he added. "...Remember when I was accused of stealing?"

Oh! I remembered that. Imelda the Brat. She thought she could get away with it. Good thing I arrived in time, or else her precious boyfriend would've been beaten to a pulp.

Oh wait, he was beaten up...

"Yeah... I still remember that."

"She was behind it," Ci-N said, lowering his head.

WTF?!!!

"H-how do you know?"

"Keifer told me," he murmured.

I thought he had no idea who was behind it. I knew Keifer had a bank-level secrecy motto, so it wasn't surprising that he figured it out.

But why didn't he tell me?

"Why didn't you guys do anything?"

Even though I already had a feeling about the answer, I still let Ci-N say it.

"It's Ella... Keifer still had feelings for her back then."

I knew it.

Ugh!

Something heavy settled in my chest, making it hard to breathe.

Even though Keifer said that I was the one he wanted now, I still couldn't help but feel hurt.

I just kept quiet and stared off into the distance.

I didn't want to look at the rooftop anymore.

"Jay-jay!" someone called out.

I turned to see who it was. "What?" I asked Kit.

"What do you mean 'what'? Let's go! Keifer's here," he said, annoyed.

Ci-N and I stood up and walked toward him.

When we entered the room, the tables were pushed to the sides.

Some of them were already in just t-shirts—like Yuri and Keifer.

"Karate 101 begins!" Ci-N cheered while clapping.

"We're going to teach you the basics," Yuri said.

I scratched my head.

Basics, basics... Pfffttt...

Keifer gestured toward the spot between him and Yuri, telling me to move there. I was still spaced out but followed anyway.

"We'll show you what we've learned first," Felix said.

I nodded and let them continue.

Felix stepped into the center, holding a notebook. He raised it and called Ci-N forward.

What are they going to do?

Ci-N took his stance, posing like Bruce Lee.

"Wooooaaaahhhhh..." he said.

That's when I realized what they were going to do.

Ci-N was going to try and kick the notebook out of Felix's hand.

No way!

It was too high, and Ci-N was too short.

Suddenly, Ci-N jumped and spun in the air.

He won't reach! He won't reach!—HE REACHED!

hat was amazing! Damn!

Ci-N actually did it—he reached the notebook in Felix's hand.

I clapped in amazement.

"That was awesome! I want to do that too!" I said.

"It'll take a long time before you can learn that. Let's focus on self-defense and the basics first," Yuri told me.

"I don't want to! That's what I want to learn!"

"That can wait! Basics first!" Keifer insisted.

"But that's what I want!"

"Ugh, you're so stubborn! That's not something you can just learn right away!" Keifer snapped.

"Then teach me!"

"Are you dumb?! I said next time!"

"You're the dumb one! You don't get what I want!"

"Break it up! Break it up!" the others yelled at us.

It was only then that I noticed they had been watching us.

This idiot! Why couldn't he understand what I wanted?

"I'll just teach you that instead," Ci-N offered, making me stop.

Nice! High kick lessons!

"Let's get started..." Yuri brought the topic back. "In all of Section E, five of us know martial arts. If we count what Mayo knows, that makes six."

"Ahh... Kapour." I answered absentmindedly.

They all stared at me.

Mayo scratched his head, laughing.

"Jay... It's parkour," Felix corrected me.

No way! These guys were making me look stupid. They must be messing with me!

"No. He said kapour," I insisted.

"It's really parkour," Mayo said.

Hm?! Which one was it? I was sure that's what he told me.

"You told me kapour!" I said, annoyed.

I was starting to feel embarrassed. I didn't know which one was right anymore.

"It's parkour," Mayo replied.

"Kapour!"

"Parkour!"

"Kapour is what you told me!"

"Parkour!"

"Kapour! Kapour! Kapour!"

"I said parkour!" Mayo shouted, frustrated.

I could tell he was getting irritated. He got annoyed quickly.

"Kapour! You said kapour! Kapour! Kapour! Kapour!" I repeated.

He was obviously pissed but was trying to hold it in. He kept scratching his head and furrowing his brows.

"You're so stubborn! It's parkour—"

"STOP! STOP! STOP! STOP!" Keifer's angry voice shook the entire room. "...Stop it! And stop acting like a child!"

I lowered my head and pouted.

Now look! I got scolded by the King because of Mayo.

So annoying!

"One more time, and I'll smack both of you!" he warned before walking away.

I looked at Mayo, who was still obviously annoyed at me.

"Kapour..." I muttered under my breath.

But it seemed like he heard me.

"You idiot! I said parkour!" he yelled at me.

The nerve! He just called me stupid!

"You're even dumber! Moron!" I yelled back.

Suddenly, everyone froze, shocked by what I said.

Wait! What did I just say?!

"Oh... Jay-jay cursed," Ci-N said.

Then they all turned to Keifer.

Even I ended up looking at him. I had a bad feeling about this.

Crap!

Keifer smirked.

"Profanity."
