I Still Have School

In a totally different part of the continent.

"So,they have found each other?" Said a mysterious man talking on the phone.

"Yes my Lord. The girls power awakened and he came to her." Voice of an elderly man is heard on the other end.

"We need them together,the spell cannot work if they are apart." Mysterious voice says again,sounding commanding.

"I will do my best my Lord,I will not let you down." Elderly man says.

"You better not!" Mysterious man ends the call.

"Finally, I will get a second chance,this time I will not fail. No matter what I must get what is rightfully mine..!!" The mysterious man breaks into a sinister laugh.

These are the words an elder,who Mariana came to learn was a priest,spoke during the ritual. She had thought it would be just a simple thanksgiving and words exchanged,but when the elders spoke she could feel the weight in their words. It was not as simple as an engagement,it was an oath.

They were being brought together by more than words. She felt it,it was like binds were being tied around their joined hands. For the first time, Mariana took her time to observe him. He was inhumanly handsome. His skin was so smooth you could almost see his pores. His face,eyes you could get lost staring at, cute nose, beautiful curly hair , perfectly sculpted jaw. He was masculine and it was like his muscles had muscles..

Then there was his lips..is it awkward to want to touch someone's lips as you admire them? Because that's how Mariana felt. She noticed Branden's lips curving into a smile and she lifted her gaze up to look at his eyes.'do you like what you see my queen.' He said through the mind link.

Mariana new she had been caught ogling at him like a pervert.

The ritual ended and the elders left, including Charles who had been left behind the previous day. When they got back to the house Mariana asked Branden,"so when are you leaving your majesty?"

Branden ignored her sarcasm and answered,"I will go as long as you come with me my queen."

Jennifer who was settling her self on a couch stopped to look at Branden to see if he was joking about what he just said. She realized he seemed serious and exclaimed,"what!"

Branden looked at her and laughed,"am joking Jennifer,but if Mariana wanted to,I would not object to it."

"I can't leave,this is my home! I still have school. What, did you think that just because we exchanged a few ancient words am tied to you by the hip and I should follow you everywhere?" Mariana said.

Branden walked towards her,"you might joke about anything concerning your status,but never again would you dimin what we just did today. Those were more than words and if broken they can have catastrophic consequences. Do you hear me?!"

Mariana had never seen this side of him,he was always light and joking about,but now,he sounded scary. Mariana just nodded her head agreeing to what he had said. Branden took a step back and directed his next statement to Melissa and Jennifer.

"I will leave for my country soon to get my parents after which we will return."

"You can stay as long as you need to your majesty." Melissa said. Mariana looked at her grandmother and wondered what had gotten into her. She was bowing to this stranger.

"Thank you Melissa,if you don't mind I will accept your kind hospitality as of this moment,I am quite tired and would like to rest a bit." Branden said after which he left heading towards the room Melissa had assigned to him.

Mariana felt wronged,as if someone had driven a nail into her heart. Wait what was she feeling like that,she didn't care if he leaves or stays right. Then she remembered how hurt his eyes looked when he was talking to her a minute ago. 'don't tell me that he felt this bad for what I said..stupid bond.'

Mariana was feeling what Branden was feeling,now she realized why his mood changed so quickly. She needed this feeling to go so she decided to make small talk with her grandmother and mother.

"Mom where is my phone? She asked. Jennifer had completely forgotten she had Mariana's phone.

The past two days were alot to handle and she needed to rest her body and mind to recover. "It's in my room, come with me." She said getting up from the couch.

Mariana followed her to her room and when they got there, Jennifer removed Mariana's phone from her handbag.

"I still can't believe all that has happened since Friday,can you?" Jennifer asked.

"Am still in shock mom,I think it will take me time to adjust to all this. And to think that ,what worried me the most was to finish high school. If Lisa found out all that has been going on,she would freak out." Mariana said.

"Well she did call you to know how you were doing,I didn't tell her anything. I figured you would need to talk to her yourself. So,what your mate said ..would you go with him." Jennifer asked putting emphasis on the word mate.

Mariana looked at her mom with eyes that screamed,'you should know me better by now'. "Come on mom,I just met him. And just as I told him,I still have school. I can't just leave.

Jennifer was relieved but not convinced, according to what she had seen the past few days the world of the supernatural works differently. So anything can happen ,so she needed to brace herself.

After Branden went to his room he leaned against the door and sighed. He thought it would be easy once he found his mate,but it was proving to be more than difficult. He was falling for her and he knew she was falling for him too. But she was driven by facts more than fate. How could he make her admit her own feelings.

He was determined to try the best he could to make her realize it was more than the bond.
