Attack

Ravena slightly whispered, "The item I want is guarded by a certain creature. This is it's domain so I teleported a bit further away in case it sensed the it. We'll walk there."

She chanted a few syllables then waved towards Reign, He suddenly felt as if his body was lighter than a feather.

He experimentally tried to take a step only for his body to shoot out like a bullet, he was unable to stop himself in time, he uncontrollably slammed into a tree, becoming a full fledged tree hugger.

Reign looked grudgingly at Ravena, who had the good grace to look embarrassed. They were currently moving extremely fast in the forest.

Ravena had peeled Reign away from the tree and healed him, though the traumatic experience still left a shadow in Reign's heart.

It turned out that Rein hadn't waited for Ravena to finish casting all her spells. She had intended to cast Windwalk, haste. cat's agility and enhanced reflex.

However Rein had tested out his speed before Ravena could cast cat's grace and enhanced reflex. So Rein had of course not been able to bear the increase the speed and had wrapped himself around a tree.

Other than that embarrasing incident they were currently speeding through the forest at high speed, Ravena had cast invisibility on them which reduced their chances of being attacked by stray beasts. Rein once again marveled at the wonders and usefulness of magic.

Soon, they approached a clearing in the jungle, where a wide cave could be seen set on the side of a protruding huge hill. This seemed to be their destination.

However, they saw something that brought a frown to Ravana's face. There were a few humongous lizards lingering on the cave's entrance, they were leisurely resting, but their presence brought a hiccup to her plan.

She had planned to sneak into the cavern, sneak past the guardian and retrieve the object she wanted. Now though she could clearly see that an entire nest of the guardian creatures brood were in the cave.

She thought about retreat for a while but she really couldn't afford to. Next time, she might find that the beast guarding what she sought had grown stronger. she had to get it now.

She turned towards Reign, "I don't want to draw the beast guarding this place out. It can fly so if comes out things could get troublesome."

She turned and cast some more spells on Rein, "I'll buff you with some spells. They'll raise your strength, speed and defence. Help me clear out these fire lizards, it'll help me preserve my magic power and prevent that troublesome drake from coming out."

Reign felt a bit nervous but he nodded excitedly. He could feel that her spells had increased his strength exponentially, he felt as if he could totally collapse a mountain with one punch. He was a bit excited to find out if he could.

Ravena seemed to know what he felt, she didn't forget to caution him, "Your strength may have increased greatly, but you shouldn't underestimate those fire lizards. They can still greatly hurt or kill you."

Reign nodded and brought his emotions under control. They stepped out of the forest cover and ascended the hill, approaching the entrance to the cavern.

As they did Reign noticed that it was extremely wide. It was almost fifty feet tall, he wondered what needed a cavern that tall to enter.

The fire lizards immediately spotted them. They all stood and watched them warily, they saw Rein step forward towards them, sword in hand.

In the group there were a couple of tier 2 and tier one beasts. They hissed at him in warning which he completely ignored.

Reign had to admit he was a bit scared of these fire lizards. He wondered why Ravena even called them fire lizards, they seemed more like crocodiles on steroids.

They were about a meter tall and fiver meters long. They spotted an intimidating jagged row of teeth and tough scaly skin that seemed hard to pierce. All in all, they seemed like the type of beasts one ran away from, not to.

Seeing him still coming, one of the tier 2 fire lizards spat out a huge fireball. The fireball rushed menacingly towards Reign, threatening to engulf and consume him mercilessly.

Reign didn't dare test if his defensive barrier could tank the hit, he moved his body, dodging the hit. The fireball exploded with a massive explosion, leaving a wide crater on the ground.

Reign felt his lips twitch a the scene, he was seriously reconsidering this whole fight thing, nevertheless, he stomped on the ground, the ground cracking as his body shot out like a blur.

He arrived before the fire lizard In instant, the flying sword slashing out, with a clean zing the fire lizard's head landed on the ground. Reign was startled at how easy that had been, he fixed his gaze on the other fire lizards.

He could see rage appear in their eyes, as they all rushed to attack him. Reign's body shot out again, the sound of another head falling to the ground resounded a minute later.

His advantage in speed was too great and his sword was too sharp, the lizards couldn't even react, their heads were chopped of in an instant. Soon, they had all been slain.

Reign stood over the bloody ground, his sword dripping blood. Strangely enough he wasn't as bothered as he thought he would be after the act. He grew a bit worried for his mental state.

The commotion alerted other fire lizards. They made their way out of the cavern and rushed toward Reign ferociously, their outcome wasn't any better. They were each dispatched mercilessly, one after the other. Finally, it seemed that he had killed all the ones near the entrance, they stopped coming.

Ravena and Rein made their way into the cavern cautiously. Ravena brought out a crystal which emitted a soft light, illuminating their path forward. The path curved downwards, which they followed carefully.

They still encountered a few fire lizards which Reign dispatched easily when Ravena detected them. As they descended, he began to feel something resonating with him, it was like it was something from the same source as him was ahead.

Was that what Ravena was after? Just then, in front of them, in the dim light of Ravena's spell they felt a strong aura approach, it was extremely strong, reaching Tier 3, this was the same as Ravena. A huge fire lizard approached from the tunnel, it was almost three times larger than the previous fire lizards, it's red eyes glowering at them menacingly
