Chapter 5

Archer looked at her, "I entrusted my wife to your care, instructing you to teach her proper maid etiquette. Yet in just one year, she's turned into this mess. What have you done to her?"

Aunt Hattie was nearly pissing herself in fear.

Back at the estate, Scarlett had given her a million dollars to turn me into the lowest of women.

"Mr. Winters, I've been looking after your wife exactly as you instructed."

Aunt Hattie quickly regained her composure and denied everything.

"Sir, I was wrong, I was wrong... I'll tell you everything, please don't kill me..."

Aunt Hattie's clothes were torn to shreds, blood trickled from her mouth, and her cheeks were swollen. She knelt before Archer, God knows what brutal interrogation she had just endured.
