Chapter 8

"Who else could it be but Mason?"

I had once fantasized about getting engaged to Seraphina, just like this scene before me.

She in a gown, me in a suit. Though a bit shy, I would wait for her to take my hand and lead me into our new life together.

But when this day finally arrived, I was just an outsider.

I didn't have the guts to step forward and confront her, nor did I dare let her see me.

Because I was the one who suggested breaking up first.

I was the one who left our hometown in a fit of anger.

I thought she would come after me and apologize.

But she simply found a new partner.

As if my presence or absence made no difference to her.

With Mason by her side, why would she wait for me to come back?

Continuing to pester her would only invite more ridicule.

Time to get out of here.

Unexpectedly, on my way back to Coastal City, I encountered an accident while trying to avoid a sudden brake from the car in front.
