Outside

AVA'S POV

The door slammed open with a sharp, echoing crack.

Emma and I froze. My heart thundered in my chest, the sound deafening in the silence that followed. My fingers tightened around the small bag in my hand, the one that held all our hopes of escape. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. We were so close—freedom had been just a few steps away.

But we weren't alone anymore.

I turned slowly, dread curling in my stomach like ice. Standing in the doorway was Alpha Leo, his tall, broad frame filling the space like a dark storm cloud. His cold, calculating eyes locked onto mine with a fury that made my breath catch. Just behind him stood Rex, his Beta—smirking, smug, dangerous. That twisted, almost gleeful expression on his face sent a chill racing down my spine.

"You didn't really think you could just leave, did you?" Leo's voice was low, calm—but it was the kind of calm that came before the storm. Venomous, heavy, final.

Emma whimpered beside me. I could feel her trembling as she pressed closer, her hand clutching mine so tightly it hurt. We had planned everything carefully. Slipped past the guards. Avoided the patrols. But none of that mattered now.

I forced my voice to stay steady. "We weren't going to hurt anyone. We just wanted to leave. That's all."

Leo took a step forward. Then another. His gaze didn't waver. "You think you get to decide what happens to you?" he said. "You're mine, Ava. You always were."

The words struck me like a slap. I felt my chest tighten, confusion warring with fear and defiance.

"We won't stay here, Leo," I said, forcing steel into my voice. "You don't own us. We're not your property."

Leo's lips curled into a dark smile. "You really think you can escape me without consequences?"

He turned his gaze to Rex, who stood watching like a wolf savoring the anticipation before the kill.

"Rex," Leo said, "do you have a way to deal with them?"

Rex grinned. "Yes, Leo. I don't think we were satisfied earlier. Are you?"

Leo chuckled, a low, menacing sound. "You're right. Maybe it's time we teach them not to ever mess with us."

They began moving toward us, slowly, deliberately. Predators closing in on their prey.

"What the hell are you doing?" I snapped, my voice cracking under the weight of fear. I stepped in front of Emma, trying to shield her. "Stay back!"

But they didn't stop.

Rex lunged first, grabbing Emma by the arm. She screamed as he yanked her away from me. I turned to stop him, but Leo caught me, dragging me roughly against him. My fists pounded against his back as I screamed, kicked, and tried to break free.

"Let her go!" I cried, thrashing in his hold.

They didn't listen.

We were hauled over their shoulders like sacks of grain—helpless, terrified, our pleas falling on deaf ears. As we were carried off into different directions, our screams echoed down the long hallway, until even that was swallowed by the thick silence of the pack house.

Alpha Leo's Room

AVA'S POV

"Let me go!" I screamed as Leo threw me down onto his massive bed. My back hit the mattress with a dull thud, and I scrambled backward, my limbs shaking with fear. "What are you going to do to me?"

Leo stared at me, his chest heaving, eyes gleaming with something dark—possessive, furious, hungry.

"Just watch, princess," he said coldly, beginning to strip off his shirt. One by one, his clothes hit the floor until he stood before me in nothing but his boxers, muscles taut and glistening under the dim light.

"No—please!" I sobbed, backing away until I hit the headboard. "I'm a virgin! Don't do this! Please, I'm begging you!"

He didn't respond. His eyes were like stone, unreadable, unfeeling.

He reached for me.

My hands flew to my clothes, trying to shield myself, but he was stronger. In a flurry of movement, my clothing was torn away, and I was left bare, exposed, trembling in terror. Tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Please," I whispered, my voice cracking. "I'll do anything. Just don't… don't do this."

He leaned down over me, his mouth brushing my ear.

"No need for your crocodile tears," he said coldly. "I'll show you what it means to belong to me."

Then he thrust into me.

I screamed.

Pain tore through me like fire, sharp and merciless. I felt my hymen break, the sheets beneath me staining red. My hands beat weakly against his chest as he began to move, unbothered by my sobs, my cries, my pleas for mercy. My body ached. My mind spun. I begged him to stop. I cried until there were no more tears left.

But then something shifted.

After what felt like an eternity, his movements slowed. They softened. Became less punishing. My mind barely registered the change until I looked up into his eyes—and saw them glowing gold.

His wolf.

He had taken over.

"I'm sorry," he murmured, his voice different now—gentler. "I didn't want this. I couldn't stop him. My name is Leon."

Tears still streamed down my face, but something about the wolf's voice, his tone… it didn't carry the same cruel edge.

"It's not your fault, Leon," I whispered shakily. "It's Leo's. He's the one who did this."

"But we are one," Leon said softly. "Please… accept my apology. Don't hate me for what he's done."

His movements were tender now. His touch careful, as if trying to soothe the pain he had caused. And though my body still ached, I found myself no longer crying. Something new was blooming in the pit of my stomach. Heat. Confusion. A dangerous longing I couldn't explain.

I moaned—softly, involuntarily.

Leon shuddered above me.

"May I… may I mark you?" he asked, his voice husky with emotion.

I hesitated.

Marking meant a bond. A permanent one. It meant power. Submission. Connection.

And yet, a part of me longed to feel that bond. To know my wolf. To understand the strength that had been buried within me.

"I know you want to see your wolf," Leon said, reading my silence. "It won't happen unless I mark you, Ava. Please."

I swallowed, my heart racing.

"Yes," I whispered. "You can do it."

He smiled faintly. "Thank you."

He lowered his head to the crook of my neck, and then I felt his fangs sink into my flesh. The pain was sharp at first, but then—pleasure. A warmth spread through my veins, wild and electric. My back arched as I moaned loudly, my hands clinging to his shoulders.

The bond was sealed.

And I felt it.

Power. Strength. Fire. Something ancient and wild surged inside me—my wolf awakening.

But with that awakening came something else.

Weakness.

My limbs trembled, and my vision blurred. My energy drained quickly, and I collapsed into the sheets.

Leon noticed instantly and stopped moving, pulling me into his arms protectively. We lay together, skin against skin, wrapped in silence and sweat and confusion.

"I'll stay," he whispered as he brushed hair from my face. "Until you're strong again."

And for the first time in a long time, I closed my eyes… not in fear, but in exhaustion and surrender.

But even as sleep claimed me, one thought echoed in my mind:

What about Emma?
