Looking at my pale face as I lay in bed, she opened her mouth to speak.

"Wait for me."

After saying that, she hung up the phone and picked me up in her arms.

I pushed her away.

Her expression changed slightly.

"Melody, I have to go now. I'll call your mom to take you to the hospital."

With that, she left without even looking at me, opening the door and walking out.

Moonlight spilled across my face. I saw my complexion reflected in the mirror.

Deathly pale.

Seraphina, you could clearly see how much pain I was in.

Yet you abandoned me for a dinner with your fiancé.

I don't love you anymore, not in this lifetime.

Don't even think about me forgiving you.

I never expected my mom would come find me.

After learning about my condition,

Mom held me and cried on my shoulder for a long time.

She asked the doctor how much time I had left.

The doctor said two months.

Mom said, "Melody, I know you want to win the Chess Grandmaster trophy. I'll stay with you, okay?"

"Whether you win it or not, I'll be by your side."

Held in my mom's arms, I suddenly felt like my body wasn't in as much pain anymore.

Over the next month, Mom and I traveled to many places around the world.I gazed at the beautiful sights of this world, feeling as if Seraphina wasn't so important to me anymore.

Mom accompanied me to the finals.

Just as I was about to enter the competition,

I was stopped by a staff member.

"Mr. Brent, your eligibility to compete has been revoked."
