Chapter 8

Kim was walking to the artist room, when she saw Dale in front of her.

" What is this idiot doing here?" She asked herself and called him. He then stopped walking and slowly turned to look at her.

" What're you doing here?" Kim asked confused.

"Got a job here." He replied." Make up artist." He added.

" Make up artist? Funny." She said with a smile.

" That's what I do." She added.

" Let me hope we will be friends then." Dale said and Kim just laughed. She then realized she hadn't seen Miles and decided to text him.

_- Where u at?

_- home sleeping.

_- be serious. It's 9

_- got a day off.

_- gd 4r ya. I'm here at work. U know who's here?

_- who?

_- Dale.

At reading the message Miles coughed. Kim wrote again,

_- I guess it's fate.

_- fate?! My foot. Wait. Don't tell me you fell for HIM.

_- Well. Nope. I'm still standing. But wait, you jealous?

_- why would I be jealous?

_- bcs I'm lovable.

_- well, not to me.

They chatted for a while. She had got her phone repaired so using it in the public didn't make her feel ashamed.

And then before she could keep her phone, she received a picture of her mother with the green bar gang. She cursed and then called her mother who then picked up asking why she called at that hour. Instead of answering ,she asked her if she was okay. Christa frowned a little but still answered that she was okay. Kim then hung up.

After work Kim dropped at Miles. Antonia came to open for her happily. She then called Miles who was in his room.

" Still sleeping at this hour? You must be sick." Kim said jokingly as Miles came in the living room.

He then weakly sat in the sofa. Antonia decided to live them alone.

" Are you okay?" Kim asked him looking unconcerned.

" I am." Miles replied calmly.

" Come on, seeing you this calm is making me think you're about to die." Kim said teasingly and Miles just nodded. Kim uttered a curse. This was annoying her.

" Have you talked to Luna recently?" Kim asked him.

" Yeah. We just talked a few minutes ago."

" She been ignoring me for days. Dunno what I did to her."

" Just tie her and then talk to her."

After having a short boring conversation , Kim wanted to go home. Antonia came to say goodbye to her.

" When are you visiting me?" She asked Kim calmly.

" Next time I promise."

" What if there is no next time?"

" There is."

Who knows?

In the morning Miles went to work. Everything looked normal. He was given an office. He wondered what it use was and then decided,

" Sleeping of course." He told himself aloud and then went to sleep on his office. Ross then entered.

" You're sleeping?"

Miles ignored her as he thought it was too obvious that he was sleeping. Ross then went and stood beside him and looked at his face for a while. She then extended her hand to touch his face. Miles immediately cought her hand before it could reach his face and lazily opened his eyes to look at her.

" What are you doing?" Miles asked in a low voice with a serious expression. He then let go of her hand and sat straight. Ross awkwardly cleared her thro% and stroked her hair behind her ear.

" You can't sleep at this hour."

" What else can I do?"

Ross didn't have an answer . She then took out a blank paper and a pencil.

" I heard you're a good drawer. Draw the first thing which comes into your mind."

The first thing that came in his head was the man he had killed. He calmly drew him. Ross was so surprised.

" You're so talented."

" Thanks." Miles said calmly looking at the drawing. He then clenched it and threw it towards the bin . It fellaside. He then buried his head into his hands

" I need to sleep." He said in a low voice as he lied on the table. Ross then went and picked up the paper and put it into the bin before going out.

She then bumped into Kim. Kim was about to enter when Ross said.

" He is sleeping."

" Who cares?" Kim said barging in.

" Wow!!!" Kim said aloud making Miles open his eyes. She then started walking around touching everything. Ross was standing outside looking at them. Miles was sitting straight looking at Kim who was messing around. Kim then ce and stood beside Miles crossing her arms on her chest. She then smacked Miles head saying,

" Got a cool office."

" What the... "

" Stand up."

Kim said pushing him. He then stood up and stood aside. Kim then sat in his place.

" This is cool!" Kim said laughing like crazy. Miles looked at her and smiled. She was funny. Ross outside also smiled.

" Come.on , I need to sit." Miles also told her pushing her off the chair.

" Sit in the sofa."

" Haha no."

Kim then stood up and Miles sat. Kim looked at him for a while and then decided to sit on his lap.

" What?!" Miles said shocked

" What kind of ghost is possessing you?!" Miles asked aloud still shocked.

" Don't be dramatic. What's wrong with ME sitting on your lap?. We're close friends."

" Hey! Get up!" Miles told her.

" I reject." Kim said cutely. Miles then decided to calm down. Ross outside decided to take a picture of them.

"Why do they look good together?" She asked herself aloud with a smile.

Miles then calmly whispered in her ear,

" Aren't you afraid that ,that' close friendship' would change into something else from this?" Kim looked in his eyes for a while and then suddenly stood up.

" Ahh. You got me."

Ross outside now didn't look happy about it.

_ Enjoy this little last time together. Ross thought about it sadly and then went away.

Antonia was home watching TV , she then remembered how Miles had been acting the previous day. She decided to call Philip. Thet were once partners but after her legs got broken, she retired.

" Hi Tony." Philip said cheerfully.

" Phil, don't tell me you put Miles into the organization."

" Of course I did."

" Come on , why would you.do that?"

" Turn him into a real man."

" You've became crazy... Aren't you tired of taking people's lives?"

" I'm not... it's actually funny."

Philip then hung up? Was he now serious? He wasn't the one who called, but hung up??!!! Antonia wanted to curse and curse but she decided she was too old for that. Philip then called Jason, he feared that Antonia would report him. Antonia knew he had been violating the rules, killing people for his own interest which was really annoying.

Miles sat in Harvey's office as they spoke.

" So the Raging Phoenix was started by my.."

Harvey stopped talking for a while. He then continued,

" Philip and other woman I don't know started the Raging Phoenix. They both were once mercenaries. The gov. gave them a job to get rid of those crazy criminals the government couldn't easily get rid of. It's international."

" Why did he accept ?"

" Ask him yourself. But when he was young, his parents were killed. He tried to go to the court countless times but it was useless. Then , they tried to kill him and almost succeeded. He was hospitalized for a couple of months. They even got him arrested. And when he got out , of course he killed them."

Miles clicked his tongue.

" You sure criminals are only killed?"

"No."

" Reports him."

" You're narrow minded."

" Thanks."

" By the way , if you want your girlfriend safe , keep a distance for now."

" Who is my girlfriend?"

" K.I.M"

At the moment he received a message from Philip to go to a warehouse that was near the company. Kim also got the same message. Miles reached there first. He entered and didn't bother close completely.

And then he saw Luna kneeling down with a gun and an ear bug down in front of her. This girl was quite unlucky. " Sup." Miles said awkwardly. Instead of answering, Luna threw the gun and the ear bug at him. He wore it.

"Pick up the gun." Philip told Miles hesitated a little but still he picked it up. It was not like he was ruling himself then by the way. Follow rules and you might live.

" There's a sniper there. If you don't ' boom' her, a bullet will pass through her head." Philip said as if it was funny. Come on, what did he do to deserve a crazy so called father? Philip, Ross, Zay and Harvey were watching this on a screen.

At the moment Kim also arrived. She then saw Miles and was about to approach him teasing when she saw he was holding a gun at Luna.

" Shoot." Philip ordered and Miles did as he was told . H shot her in the shoulder. Kim was remained there standing for a while confused. After realizing what just happened, she run to Luna but was suddenly stopped by some guys who injected some drug in her neck and she fell, unconscious.
