Mix 5: Vampire's Kiss: A vampire longing for sweetness

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Alicia screamed at her fiance named Vladimir, the ruling vampire of the East plains of Landiuil, the southern part of Gundâr the world where Asher was currently summoned.

"Why don't you want to drink my blood?" Alicia was now doubting if Vlamir was planning to break their engagement because, according to her, Vladimir stopped drinking her blood.

It wasn't that Vladimir didn't love his fiance anymore, it was the strong smell of her blood that caused him to feel nauseous every time he needed to feed. Due to the extreme 'rusty and metallic' smell, Vladimir's stomach churned.

"Alicia, I told you, haven't I? I'm not some bastard Vampire who's a blood maniac. I'm also considering dieting," he said, which was a lie.

The truth was Vladimir had a reputation of blood-drying all his victims from different parts of the world. He was known as the Night, a monster that hunted at night, preying for delicious blood. He liked them sweet, so sweet that could make him reach the europhia, a vampire blissed.

Things changed when he met the beautiful Alicia, he fell in love but his monstrous part wanted just to feed her, bleed her to dry but then learned that blood smelled nasty. The first time he tasted it, his palate reacted. The word nasty, tasted bad and every negative taste hit his brain. Then his brain immediately sent a warning, like an ambulance siren telling him the bitch was poisoning him.

The vampire bliss was long gone. Vladimir wasn't happy anymore and he was at his wit's end.

"I haven't seen you fed since we live together!" she said, self-conscious. She placed her hand on her chest and started her dramatic speech. A speech Vladimir had already heard thousands of times. He rolled his eyes and his fiance about to open her mouth,

"I'm going on a business trip, Alicia," he said, cutting the poor, clueless woman to her grand speech.

"What? Business trip? Darling, you don't have any business at all. Remember?" Alicia asked, confused again by her fiance's obvious words.

"Er, I mean I decided to invest my centuries-old gold. You know for our wedding," Vladimir half-smiles. He knew Alicia would be suspicious.

He needed to feed otherwise he'd starve to death, not that he'll die anyway.

"Oh! Those gold bars hiding under your castle?" Alicia's eyes twinkled.

"Yes."

"Perfect! I thought you'd just hide them forever!"

"Well, it's about time, don't you think?" he said, hopefully Alicia would allow him to go. He actually planned on bringing Saturn, his ever-loyal butler.

"When are you going to leave? Can you buy me some new clothes upon coming back?" Alicia said, which made Vladimir look at her.

"You're not coming?" He replied, praying she wouldn't.

"Oh no," Alicia replied. "I'll be hosting an all-girls party once you leave," she said excitedly.

"Oh, that's a good idea," he replied. "Saturn and I leave tomorrow night," he said.

Packing a few things, Saturn and Vladimir set their way to no particular destination. Vladimir just wanted to hunt maidens and feed on their sweet blood.

It was starting to get dark and they waited patiently, waiting for a maiden to walk through and then he'll ambush them. And then Delanie walked right to their trap.

When he was about to make his move, a stair suddenly appeared before the woman. He watched as she climbed on the steps one by one, and stopped for a bit, admiring the lamp-like grass and continuing climbing the rest of the steps.

Vladimir looked at his servant. And he has this curious face as he was.

"Master, it might be a trap," Saturn warned him but curiosity hit Vladimir like the awful smell of his fiance's blood.

"I need to go, Saturn. I need to know what's on the top of the floating island that appeared above us," he said, anticipating to see what was on the mysterious floating thing.

Saturn knew, even if he said no, his master would still go. How many times did his master put himself in danger? Countless. He lost count. Most of them were due to Heroes hunting him and maybe 80% was due to his carelessness.

Saturn heaved a sigh. Now he's following his master, both of them making their way up.

As they reached the top, their eyes bulged seeing how beautiful the actual view above was. They were men, beast-like. Laughing as they chug their beer.

"Hello, good evening. Welcome to the floating bar," said the woman who was actually Vladimir's target.

"O-oh, good evening. Is this a bar?" Vladimir asked, darting his eyes from the drinking customers and to the bridge going to the other side of somewhere more than beautiful.

"Yes," the woman replied. "This area is designated for the beer drinker, that's why it's a little bit noisy here. The part of the bar over there is somewhat a place for someone who likes peace and enjoys their drinks," she added, explaining the bar's drinking place.

Asher finished serving Elena's favorite drink. She chatted with her for a bit before proceeding to wipe the counter.

"Good evening," a deep male voice greeted her.

Asher looked up and saw a man wearing a suit and a red tie. He was pale and had very red lips.

Must be a vampire, she thought.

"Good evening, sir. What can I do for you tonight?" she asked professionally.

"Do you serve blood?" He asked. "Something sweet and can erase the after taste of my fiance's blood on my tongue?"

Asher almost laughed. She knew she would be rude if she did actually laugh. I stead, she told him she doesn't serve blood but purely alcoholic drinks.

Hearing this, Vladimir's face saddened. He was expecting to feed tonight.

"We don't serve blood here but I can mix you a sweet drink if you desire sweetness," Asher said, taking pity on the vampire.

"Please, please. Make me."

"I'm on it," she replied as she thought of a drink for the vampire.

She remembered a customer of hers who loved cosplaying as a vampire. Every year when a cosplaying event took place near her bar, this woman would visit her and order her a Vampire's Kiss. She loves it so much that she always finishes 3 to 4 glasses each night.

Smiling, Asher took her jigger and shaker out. She took out a martini glass and placed some ice and water to chill the glass. She set it aside and then took a bottle of raspberry vodka, black raspberry liqueur, and a bottle of cranberry juice.

Grabbing her jigger and shaker, Asher poured 2 ounces of Raspberry vodka into the shaker, another 2 ounces of black raspberry liqueur, and 3 ounces of cranberry juice into the shaker. She dumps some small ice and shakes it at least seven times for the ingredients to mix smoothly.

She then dumped the ice water from the glass and poured the strained mixture into the martini glass.

"Enjoy," Asher said and served the Vampire Kiss.

Vladimir's eyes widened. Before him was a finished product of Asher's labor. In his eyes, the liquid was like blood. Without any hesitation, he grabbed the drink, studied it for a bit, and brought the glass to his lips.

Silent…

Everything surrounding Vladimir suddenly fell silent.

Vladimir wondered what happened. He only tasted the drink and then everything changed. He closed his eyes, maybe he was imagining things.

And when he opened his eyes, he saw them face to face with a Red Raspberry. And without a warning, the raspberry punched him on the face, to his stomach.

"I'm all you need!" it said.

The red raspberry gave him an uppercut punch and with the moment, the sweetness of Vampire's kiss exploded in his palate. The sweetness that he had been longing for was there. The boozy, sweetness with a hint of tartness, mixed fruits of what he thought probably were foreign attacked him.

"Ah!!!! What a lightened sweetness! I want more! I need more!" Vladimir screamed. "T-This taste is what I have been searching for!"

Suddenly, the bad aftertaste of his fiance's blood left his mind as if his brain had forgotten that damn taste and was now violently assaulted by the sweetness he has right now.

Asher secretly smiled as she watched the vampire smiling, closing his eyes.

She was always drawn to the allure of vampires. For as long as she can remember, she has been a fan of some vampire movies. She would never expect that she'd meet one.

Meanwhile, Vladimir woke up from his trance and smiled at Asher.

"I'd like another glass of this drink please," he said, craving for more.

"Alright," she replied.
