*** The test of genuine love***
The tough question remains, 'Will Mark pass the test?'
But let us see how it went...
Shiro is sleeping on a hospital bed desperately. She is having some difficulty breathing. Someone could just easily notice that she had some difficulty breathing, her heart pumping heavily, threatening to break the chest cavity. It was obvious that she was in deep pain.
Meanwhile, Mark was down on his knees. He was uttering some words, most probably to the Maker. He was in a spiritual world, trying to intervene on behalf of his fiancé.
A doctor arrived, carrying a needle, syringe and a bottle of liquid medicine. Obviously, it was going to be an injection.
Mark halted, stood on his knees and rushed to welcome the doctor.
"Hey, good morning doctor!" he greeted politely.
The doctor just looked at him, ignored him and made a step to the bed where Shiro was.
Mark wondered. The trait the doctor portrayed disturbed him most. But he convinced himself, maybe assuming that it was his nature. Or else, she was moody that particular morning.
Mark did not get scared. He moved closer to witness the fiancé being attended to. His wife was glued to his fiancé, his eyes watery and as red as blood. He was almost crying, but being a man, he could not allow this to happen. He had to act in a muscular manner.
The doctor looked at Mark and asked, "Why do you want to cry?"
The doctor was probably sent to finish him completely. Mark perceived the doctor as inhuman.
"Why are you in the women's ward at such a particular time?" the doctor insisted.
Mark was tongue-tied, he lacked a word to express himself. He knew very well that at that particular time it was forbidden for a man to enter a woman's ward. But the love he had for Shiro could not allow him to stay far. He even wished to be as close as one centimeter apart.
"Call by her name. I want to see if she will respond."
"Shiro! "Shiro! "My love!" Mark called out. He had never called her by name before. Mark often called her, 'Love'.
Shiro was still unconscious. The doctor took a needle and a syringe full of liquid medicinal content, and positioned Shiro's arm ready to inject.
As the doctor finally injected him, Mark became emotionally damaged. Tears rolled down her cheeks uncontrollably.
The doctor then left the ward. Mark then found an opportunity to move closer and sit on the hospital bed where her lover was sleeping, his eyes glued to his lover's face.
After around five minutes, Shiro opened her eyes gradually. The first person she saw was her lover, Mark.
Mark felt grateful.
He had hope again.
Mark kept his eyes on her lover, who seemed still in pain, though physically one could tell she was responding well to medication.
It was around noon, when Shiro stretched up and sat on the bed. She asked for a glass of water from Mark. Mark then quickly made his way out to the canteen to purchase clean water for her.
Mark returned, in an optimistic manner and told her, "Here is a bottle of water. Let's hope you get discharged today."
Shiro nodded her head in agreement.
Mark went out and bought marinated potatoes for his lover. She was probably hungry since she had not eaten anything since morning.
After lunch, the two went into a conversation. They started chatting happily. They were not ready to discuss anything concerning their love relationship as it could do more harm than good.
The doctor came in to check on her only to find surprised. The patient had recovered and was insisting on being discharged.
Shiro was discharged as she wished. She wanted to stay away from the hospital environment.
Mark ordered a taxi, which ferried them home. They all say at the back seat, as their affection grew fonder. Maybe the situation had made them bond.
The taxi dropped them around three hundred meters away from their place of residence. Mark had to support the girlfriend as they walked to their apartment room.
Finally, they found their way into the room. Shiro was very exhausted. She went direct to bed to relax.
Mark remained on the coach. He had deep thoughts, wondering why the girlfriend destroyed his phone. He felt bored, having no any source of entertainment or something to tame his attention now that the phone was not there.
Mark regretted it, but now he had learned the lesson the hard way. Going through the test was not that easy. He almost gave up on the way. But I finally passed the test. He had found Shiro's trust in him.
But what could have happened if Mark could have given up and disappeared? Maybe it could have meant the end of their long love relationship. A relationship that had cost money and time to build.
After sometime, Mark went to see how Shiro was faring. He found her deeply asleep. Mark covered her with a duvet and then went out.
Mark partially closed their door and went to the balcony. Little did he know a second test was awaiting him.
A beautiful, curvy lady passed by and greeted him. She then sat one meter away from him.
Mark wished to engage the lady in a fun conversation before they could exchange contact, but retreated. He knew a slight mistake could lead his lover to a deteriorating health condition.
Finally, the lady started the conversation. "Hey handsome, why so quiet?"
"What has she called me? "Handsome!" A series of thoughts raced through his mind, making him desire to cooperate.
"But... But... "I have a girlfriend". Mark struggled to draw a boundary.
"I am not interested in your girlfriend but you", the girl insisted.
"But you are a stranger" Mark commented as he walked away, escaping more temptations. Maybe he was now turning wise or alternative had genuine love for Shiro. Mark was determined to reform, concentrate on a single lover.
