The silver portal shimmered before us, pulsing with an eerie glow. It wasn’t exactly inviting—at least, not to me. Judging by the silence, I’d bet the others felt the same way, though Argentum’s ever-present grin was an exception.
Yeah… none of us really wanted to go. But at this point, we had no choice.
Elyas let out a weary sigh. Maintaining the portal must have been taking a toll on him.
“There’s no turning back,” he said, his voice firm but tired. “Let’s just get this over with.” Then, he turned to me. “Ash, you’re taking the lead?”
I stuffed my hands into my pockets. “Why me?” I wasn’t the leader or anything. Did he think I’d inspire confidence in the others? Yeah, right.
Tack!
A sharp slap landed on my back, nearly knocking me forward. Argentum burst into laughter.
“Oh, that’s right! Should I call you Ash or Lina now?” His eyes sparkled with amusement.
I shot him a glare. He really didn’t hold back, huh? My shoulder still stung.
“Keep that up, and I’ll make sure you lose that one good hand of yours,” I muttered.
He just grinned wider.
With a sigh, I turned toward the portal. “It’s Lina. Lina Lapis.” I took a step forward, the swirling energy crackling against my skin. “Since we’ll be meeting Ash on the other side anyway.”
And with that, I stepped through.
The others followed close behind.
“Let’s see how this goes, shall we?”
A Masterpiece of Emotion, Magic, and Moral Complexity This novel isn’t just a story—it’s a journey. A descent into darkness, beauty, and truth, wrapped in magic and written with a soul-crushing honesty that lingers long after the last line. From the very beginning, the worldbuilding pulled me in: hauntingly immersive, with Flow and Mana intricately woven into the fabric of society, and ruins that feel like living memories. The pacing? Perfect. It teases you with gentle moments of wonder and warmth, only to drag you headfirst into scenes of devastation, betrayal, and impossible choices. And yet, it never feels cruel—it feels earned. The characters are where this story truly shines. Mina’s brilliance and vulnerability, the protagonist’s (Lina) quiet strength, her heartbreak, and Oliver… Oh, Oliver. I don’t think I’ve ever loved and feared a character so much at once. His arc alone deserves an award. He’s not just a villain or a tragic figure—he’s a reflection of every flaw in the world he was born into. And his chapter (“The Author’s Choice”) is hands down one of the best POVs I’ve ever read in any medium. There are moments in this story that made me cry, others that made me angry, and many that made me sit in silence, just thinking. The emotional weight is balanced beautifully by the action and the fantasy elements, which are both inventive and gripping. The writing itself is evocative, lyrical when it needs to be, brutally direct when it hurts most, and always intentional. You can feel the care in every scene. This isn’t just a must-read—it’s a story that demands to be felt. It challenges you, breaks you, and somehow puts you back together in a way that feels completely new. If you’re looking for a novel that dares to explore the grey in all things—heroes, villains, family, sacrifice—and wraps it in a hauntingly beautiful fantasy setting, this is it. Highly recommended for fans of To Your Eternity, Vinland Saga, or anything that leaves a mark on your soul.
It hurts. It breaks you. And you will thank it. I have no words—only scars. W.A.L.L. isn't just a story. It's a plunge into a world where pain wears a human face and magic laced with trauma. The power system—Flow, Mana, Eidos—it's breathtakingly rich and terrifyingly personal. Every rule has consequences. Every technique feels like a cry from the soul. Especially the Eidos... They don't just cost energy—they cost truth. But what tore me apart, again and again, was Lina. Or should I say Ash? The reveals. The way they burned. You live through the story thinking you understand her. The mother, the kingdom, the journey... only to realize she's the wreckage of a girl who never got to grow whole. Ash was always Lina, the personality will never change no matter how hard she tries. That twist didn't feel like a plot device. It felt like someone reached into my chest and crushed something tender I didn't know I had. And Mina... sweet, powerful, broken Mina. Her innocence, her magic, her fate—it haunts me. Every time she smile, a part of me shatters because I know what's coming. And I'm never ready. Then there's Lou. Oh, Lou. If this novel were a blade, he'd be the serrated edge. Tragedy made him something sharp and lost. His backstory? It's not a backstory. It's a quiet scream. A devastation that never stopped echoing. You don't read W.A.L.L. You endure it. You weep with it. And somehow, despite it all, you beg for more. At least I'm begging for more.
Alright, let's see, how should I start? Oh, yeah. Maybe with "Why does it feel like people are missing out on this?" I mean I get, you got enough isekai, you wanna read something new, it's nothing out of the ordinary in here, blah blah blah. Well, guess what? You're wrong. This novel is anything but ordinary. The power system (AKA What people find the most interesting) is completely new, I guarantee that you've never seen any power system like it before. The characters? Amazing! Pretty much what I love the most! Caring parents, but not the obsessive care. A great uncle-mentor. An even greater lazy strong dude (Lou). Let's not forget about Lina/Ash (The MC) that will amaze in both their past life and their reincarnation life. The author isn't hesitating to bombard us with surprises and a plot twist after the other, I'm especially talking about the second volume even though it just started. And don't worry, even the first volume has its own beauty, backstories, etc. I'm also underlining the emotions and how the author protrays them through the aura of Flow users. How the MC is burdened with power, Lou's reason behind hating fellow humans, why Romeo is so protective, and I bet there is still more than only that. I can't tell you enough. So, just try reading the first chapter (How Ash died in his past life) and let me see if you can stop reading or not. I wish the author publishes two chapters a day, and even that won't be enough to satisfy me. No, I wish it gets a comic or even an anime adaptation. Long story short, it's great. So stop missing out for hell's sake as Lina says.
