Escape

"D-Demon!" one soldier screamed, and hurled his spear. Flames erupted along its shaft as it soared through the air.

It flew straight toward the abomination, burning bright.

The demon didn't flinch.

Instead, he casually raised a hand and snapped his fingers.

TAH.

DHAK!

The ground trembled as something landed in front of him with a deafening thud.

A massive beast—its thick, matted fur reeking of rot—had appeared out of nowhere. The flaming spear struck its limb, but it didn't even blink.

The weapon sizzled and fell, useless.

The soldiers froze. Their formation wavered for a moment as cold sweat ran down their backs. Instinct made them raise their spears even higher, knuckles white around the shafts.

Before them stood a monster—twenty feet tall, towering like a nightmare.

Its two thick legs stomped the ground, holding up its hulking weight, while its long, muscular hind limbs twitched, as if ready to leap.
