CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO

"HEY, hon, where have you been?" Justine, who was waiting for her, suddenly asked her.

Justine's question surprised her because she assumed he wouldn't catch her. That's why she thought of her alibi.

"Ah, no, I just had something to take care of today." Sheila could only speak to the person standing in front of her.

It just nodded at her. Justine only smiled at her. He even hugged her and patted her. "Take a rest for now." He even told her.

She just nodded. She is thinking about whether to introduce him as someone who treated her like a daughter.

"Justine, come with me tomorrow." She invited Justine.

He just turned to her. "Where are we going tomorrow?" he asked her.

"Just come with me tomorrow." Sheila even kissed him on the lips.

"Okay." Justine nodded at her. "Take a break for now." He even told her.

"Yeah." She only nodded.

Sheila entered her room. She only just sighed.

Her sister already knew him; he was the father of Manuel Santiago, who became the husband of her sister, Angely Atienza Santiago. She knew that Raymundo Santiago had become Angely's sugar daddy so they could survive in the world.

Her older sister was clinging to the edge; she would do any job, even if it meant getting dirty in the mud. She also received the entirety of her older sister's wealth before she passed away in an accident.

As long as she continues to follow Raymundo Santiago's demands, her life will be fine even after her sister's passing.

In return, she takes care of the elderly man, so he visits her in the hospital. If her sister can swallow everything, she needs to do that too.

"Sheila, you'll be fine even if I'm not here." She remembered her older sister saying she stopped studying in college to provide for their needs as siblings.

Sheila nodded; she was already fifteen years old, and Angely was twenty-seven, having married Santiago when Manuel Santiago's real wife suddenly disappeared.

She was introduced to Manuel's father, who was still strong at that time.

"So that is your younger sister." She had heard Raymundo saying that word before.

Her sister just nodded.

"Don't be afraid of him." Angely whispered to her back then.

Sheila just nodded, even though her mind was telling her that this person was dangerous. He smiled at her and even beckoned her.

She just looked at her sister first. "Go on." Angely could only say it to her while looking at her intently.

So she immediately approached with a smile and went to where Raymundo was.

"You really like your sister; I'd like to borrow her for a while." Raymundo could only say it while staring at her sister.

She knew her sister wouldn't agree, but he threatened her sister with a look filled with malice, so she just complied.

Sheila was taken into the room. Because she was still young, she was afraid of what would happen. But the worst thing that happened in her mind actually occurred: she was repeatedly assaulted, but the loss of her dignity came with a price.

He offered her more freedom and power with his money.

"Sheila, you can still back out if you can't handle it anymore." Her sister spoke up.

She couldn't speak. "Sister, you didn't turn back then, so I won't turn back either. We're already here; we'll start living, and we'll be able to buy what we want." At that time, Sheila could only express those thoughts.

Raymundo accepted it and exploited their siblings' weakness; his wife, Manuel, was unaware of what was happening. Sometimes they get involved with the syndicate because the old man sometimes brings them as paid women.

There, she learned that Raymundo had killed Leah along with Manuel and her sister.

"Sister, did you kill someone back then?" She couldn't help but ask her sister, Angely.

"Sheila," Angely signaled her not to make a scene because she knew the old man would hear them.

"I—it's too much, too much. You killed her without any chance?" She just asked again, and she won't believe what she discovered at that time.

"Sheila, it's all over; everything is quiet now. The dead who were involved here will not come back to life." Angely answered her sarcastically.

"Leah was your friend back then, wasn't she?" Back then, she was puzzled by her sibling's question.

"Shut up! Shut up, Sheila!" Her older sister glared at her angrily.

Sheila calms the fear she is feeling. The memory of her sister's and her sister's husband's deaths now causes her knees to tremble.

"Sister, does Raymundo have anything to do with this?" she asked back then.

Angely's sibling didn't answer immediately. "I have no choice; I have to follow, or else he will kill us." He could only say to her,.

"We chose to enter this dirty world, so please don't give up, Sheila. Accompany him, and you will be safe from the enemy." Angely could only say to her,.

"Enemy? Sister? "He is the enemy." She could only say...

"Sheila, you need to clench your mouth shut; you'll get into trouble if you don't follow what he wants. Please, Sheila." She ended up saying it to her. Sheila saw that the eyes of her sister Angely were full of worry and somewhat scared of Raymundo.

She couldn't do anything about it back then. When she got older, she could breathe more easily; she managed her condition better. She has become accustomed to the sensation of someone touching her body.

She must endure all of that, but she'll be free when Raymundo dies and leaves her his wealth.

A little patience, Sheila. She could only murmur to herself as she gazed at her reflection in her room's mirror.

The entire story was unknown to her; all she knew was that the old man was also using her to manipulate the Francisco clan.

Sheila just sighed at that moment.

She was surprised to see a woman looking at her. She was grinning at her; she recognized her immediately—she was the woman in mourning attire.

"Hello, Sheila." The woman moved even closer to Sheila.

"W—What do you need from me?" asked Sheila to the woman she could only swallow.

She heard her laughter coming from the grave. "Sheila, do you want to visit your sister Angely?" she asked her.

Her hand trembled then out of fear of what she might do to her again.

"Just relax, I won't hurt you." The woman even said to her.

Suddenly, she was taken into the darkness, and she saw the three people who were there.

"Welcome to my humble home, Sheila." She even said it to her.

Sheila got to know the three prisoners. Sheila was taken aback.

"Leah!" Angely's voice was angry.

"S —Sis?" she asked, and she got confused.

The woman could only laugh at her older sister's reaction.

Leah? She questioned in her mind. She gasped at what she thought.

"Leah Martinez?" she questioned the woman sitting on the throne, who was simultaneously staring at her.

"Oh, I'm glad that you'd remember me, my dear Sheila." She smiled at him.

"Why did you bring my youngest sister here?" Angely asks Leah sharply.

"Oh, she just wants to know what her sister is doing. Your sister has a right to understand what you're doing here." Leah's voice sounds pleased.

"Sis, what are you doing here?" She looked at her and then at Leah, who was smiling at her.

"Are you happy to see your older sister and that she's doing fine?" she whispered, asking her.

"Sheila, never let that woman affect you." Angely warned her.

"Oh dear, I will take you back; your sibling was too happy to see you."

Darkness suddenly engulfed Sheila as she woke up in her bed. She touched her forehead, still anxious.

"Let's play again, Sheila, but your older sister is joining us this time." A voice whispered in her ear.

Sheila simply swallowed, her hand trembling.
