"TASHIA, it's your semestral break now, right?" asked her sister Vivianne.
She only nodded in response to her sister.
"It's fortunate that Sister Sharlene has someone to accompany her here."
Tashia didn't answer anymore.
"Sister, is it really better that Martin knows what happened?" She asked Vivianne.
Vivianne just sighed at her question. "He's too persistent, so I took him there. Besides, I know that person knows something." Her sibling, who was organizing the things inside the hospital, replied.
They have been here for almost a month now; the child is stable, but Ashley still hasn't woken up because her soul hasn't returned to her real body.
"Are you going to San Mateo now?" she asked Vivianne.
"Tomorrow, I'll accompany Sister Sharlene to the mansion."
Tashia just frowned at what she heard. "You didn't even enter that mansion back then. Will you force yourself"? Tashia is getting worried about Vivianne's decision.
"I have to do it, Tashia; besides, you couldn't handle what you saw when you were there, could you?" She asked her.
She couldn't answer; Tashia remained silent. When she remembers that, her body can't help but get goosebumps all over.
"Watch over Ashley here, and someone might come to visit again. Just let them be." Vivianne sighed after saying this.
She only sat down after folding the clothes that were there. They promised that no one would ever find out about Sharlene's secret.
She was having second thoughts about helping their imprisoned grandmother, but she was still thinking about Ashley's safety.
"What can we do to lift the curse that Grandma put on the child?" Tashia could only ask.
"I don't know either, but we need to take the risk of letting the child out."
"Huh? How?" She asked Vivianne and gave her sister a confused look.
"Let's go," Vivianne said to her.
"Where?" she asked.
Abruptly, Vivianne seized Tashia's hand, and darkness engulfed them. They were the only people there.
"What are we doing here?" Tashia asked Vivianne.
A woman appeared before them, and she furrowed her brow when she saw her. She was wearing a white dress, her hands were bloodied, her face was pale, and her hair was messy and disheveled.
"Leah?" she asked, clearly confused by what he was seeing now.
"Sis, why are there two Leahs?" She asked, confused about what she's seeing now.
"Don't worry, she's the alter ego of another Leah; the one we always see wearing mourning clothes is her alter ego." Vivianne explained to her.
"Alter ego? Is she the original Leah?" Tashia asked.
She nodded at her. "But Grandma can't see her; she's taking care of Ashley while her alter ego is finding a way to break the curse that Grandma cast."
"I'm sorry," she said, asking for forgiveness. She just swallowed.
"What will happen when Lola sees the real Leah?" was her only question to her brother.
"I don't know; she would rather not show herself to Grandma either." Vivianne even told her.
"What do you need?" she asked, and then her second persona arrived.
Its original personality also disappeared. She just stared at the object.
"Do you know how to counter that old woman's curse?" Vivianne asked.
She was just listening and looking around.
"When you return the curse to her." Leah answered directly.
"Can you try to let Ashley go?" Vivianne asked Leah.
Leah frowned. "Are you going crazy? Do you want to stay here?" she asked them.
"What do you mean?" Tashia asked.
"You are using a physical body now, so you can travel. Do not attempt this; when I release the cursed child, it will affect your physical bodies." Leah gave the two of them an explanation and even issued a warning.
Vivianne sighed.
"We'll also curse back Grandma Felicia."
Leah smiled at what her older sister Vivianne was thinking and shook her head. "You don't know what you're talking about, Vivianne; you don't know how strong the curse of a soul like your grandmother's is."
"That's why we should try." Vivianne insisted further.
"Sis, can you just calm down? Let's just not try it; Sharlene might worry about us even more." Tashia pleaded with Vivianne to calm down for a bit.
"Follow what Tashia said, Vivianne; the present is not your world. Taking a risk puts both your physical life and your mental health at risk."
Vivianne just sighed. "So, are we going to wait for everything to be resolved so the child can be freed?" Vivianne asked.
"Sharlene was the key, and once your grandmother is freed and the vow she made back then is fulfilled, the curse will lose its potency."
"Is it true that if the soul lingers in this world for too long, the child will have difficulty returning to its body?" She couldn't help but ask.
"Don't waste time thinking you can free the child without the key; you might endanger them."
They returned to the hospital while her sister Vivianne was contemplating her options.
"Sis, don't." She shook her head at whatever her sister was thinking right now.
"Wait, I have an idea. Don't worry, I also don't want to take a risk." Vivianne said it to her.
She only just sighed, wondering what they could do to lift the curse their grandmother Felicia had given.
Tashia didn't want Sharlene to worry about that again. The two remained silent, and she noticed that her sister Vivianne was deep in thought.
Someone knocked on the door, so the two just exchanged glances. They wondered, who on earth would visit them now? The nurse is here to check the child's condition.
"Her body is in rapid recovery, and the doctor for Ashley will do rounds this afternoon. Can you please call Ashley's mom?" the nurse asked them.
"Y—Yes, ma'am." That was all she said in response to the nurse's instructions, and after checking, the nurse left.
"Call Sharlene, Tashia; let's buy something to eat first so I can think." Her sister Vivianne said.
She just nodded. Her sister brought a shoulder bag. She was grateful that Vivianne had a day off from work.
She called her sister on the cellphone, and Sharlene immediately agreed to what the nurse said. Tashia immediately hung up the phone after talking to her sibling.
What is my sibling thinking again? She just questioned it in her mind and sighed.
