CHAPTER SIXTY-EIGHT

"Help Manuel now; bury Leah alive," after he called his child.

Angely furrowed her brow, wondering if she understood correctly.

Suddenly, Raymundo put his arm around her. "You know what will happen if you don't follow, right?" he whispered to her.

"I'm going there now." She only said that and immediately got dressed. They will meet Manuel at the abandoned lot.

The equipment is ready, and he brought along some men.

"Manuel." She called out to him, seeing the unconscious Leah.

"I'm here to help you." She spoke, and Manuel's confusion was evident on his face.

"You won't go to jail." She said.

"Put that woman in the coffin," Angely quickly ordered her.

The people who followed her orders were silent.

"Angely, are we doing the right thing?" Manuel whispered to her while watching Leah, who had already been placed in the coffin.

He walked towards Leah's coffin; Manuel just followed her, sleeping soundly.

"Look, she will love it. You don't want her to suffer, right? It's better if we kill her in a peaceful way." Angely looked at the man again.

"T—This isn't right, Angely. There is still a way; it's better for me to surrender to the police than to kill Leah. My conscience can't handle that." Manuel even shook his head while talking to her.

Angely sighed and just rolled her eyes. "We're already here, Manuel; we need to do this. I would rather not end up in jail either." She stared intently at the man.

"No, I'd better go to jail." That's all she heard from Manuel. Manuel was preparing to take Leah, who was sleeping in the coffin, away.

She was alarmed, so she signaled the men with them.

"Angely! Don't stop me!" Manuel said defiantly, struggling against the men at that time.

"Hurry, just lock it; ensure it's secure before Leah awakens." She instructed the other men to gather near Leah's coffin.

Manuel managed to escape, but he was blocked again.

"Don't mind us." It created confusion for the men she brought.

"This is for our well-being, Manuel; I don't want to die yet, and I would rather not leave my sister to him." Angely said to Manuel,

She hugged Manuel to prevent him from getting close to Leah; she would rather not fail and follow his father's orders because their lives were at stake.

Manuel was still looking at the coffin she had thrown into the deep pit. They noticed that Leah had woken up; Leah's voice echoed, calling for help, and they just watched as the soil collapsed onto her coffin.

"Leah," Manuel mentioned softly, full of regret. Angely's heart still aches from the painful incident that happened to Leah, and they were the ones who buried her in her final resting place; she was her friend, so she still feels the pain.

I was just following the instructions given to me. She could only say it in her mind. Manuel stared at the grave for several minutes, the attendant preventing him from digging it up, secretly crying.

Suddenly, Raymundo called out to her.

"How is it? Angely?" Raymundo asked her.

She moved away a bit; it seemed like someone was watching them now, but when she looked back, there was no one there. She just shook her head.

"The task you assigned to me is done; deposit double the payment into my bank account," Angely could only say.

She even heard Raymundo laugh on the other end of the line. "Don't worry, dear, I will give it to you right away." How was my son?" This is a question for her regarding Manuel.

"Manuel's full of regret," Angely ended up saying.

"Ha! Get out of there," he ordered them again.

She didn't answer anymore and hung up the call from that man. When Manuel calmed down, they left as if nothing had happened during Leah's burial. She will go home to them now.

Suddenly, a heavy rain poured down before she could reach them. Afterwards, Raymundo called her again.

"Good job with your job here." She was given a reward. Angely read it, and it even included a land title given to her.

"That lot where Leah Martinez was buried, that will be yours." She couldn't help but say it.

Even though she wanted to object to what she was hearing, she was surprised by it.

Where Leah died and was buried, that is my lot. She just found her mind.

He even tapped her. "The dead will not rise again; what are you afraid of?" he asked her.

He didn't answer anymore. "By the way, you and Manuel should get married as soon as possible." Raymundo could only say this.

As Raymundo said, she and Manuel did get married, and the lot where they were buried was turned into a beautiful mansion, which also belonged to her sister Sheila.

Sheila, still naive at the time, informed her sister that she was merely a mistress, as Manuel had remarried after his wife's death.

But Manuel still didn't know that he knew about his father's dirty secrets, one of the big-time players in the syndicate. She didn't know when he would hide all her dirt and the dirt of the man who had been her support during that time.

Angely admits that she feels guilty about what she's doing, but she's already too deep, and there's no turning back.

She thought everything would be quiet when suddenly Felicia arrived. Even though she didn't believe in her abilities, someone saw how they killed Leah. Her soul is seeking justice.

"What are we going to do? We need to surrender to the police." That's all Manuel could say to her.

She couldn't be imprisoned; she sensed the weakness of the woman in front of her, so she smirked.

"How much did Leah give you?" She immediately asked the person in front of her who was searching for information to gather evidence to imprison them.

"Why? Can you surpass what she gave?" she challenged him.

Leah's parents were not yet dead at that time, Felicia probably believed; Leah's parents were also looking for answers as to why their daughter just disappeared.

She needed to use her advantage. She talked to Raymundo, who laughed but supported her nonetheless. Felicia got to know Raymundo.

She stubbornly insisted that she would push through and reveal her true self, but her life was threatened.

However, Raymundo still emerged victorious, and a bond was formed because Felicia held the grandchild whom her own family had abandoned.

She believes in her abilities.

"Angely, I know where Leah's grave is," Felicia said to her.

"Let's help each other; he holds my life and my sister's life, and yours too," Angely could only say.

She saw Raymundo's granddaughter and one of the children who witnessed them bury Leah alive.

Angely was determined not to let her hard work go unnoticed. They each had their secrets that they kept until their death.
