Chapter 32- The Dinner

The private jet gleamed under the hangar lights like a jewel, its polished surface reflecting the subdued glow of the overhead lamps. Anna hesitated at the base of the stairs, her gaze traveling up to the sleek aircraft. The opulence of it all was overwhelming, a far cry from the world she’d known.

“Move,” Jaden’s clipped tone cut through her thoughts, his presence behind her a sharp reminder of the reality she was living in.

Anna forced her legs to move, ascending the steps with as much poise as she could muster. She wouldn’t let him see how out of place she felt, even if every fiber of her being screamed that she didn’t belong in this world.
