Chapter 47- Jaden's Deadly Vow

The office was dimly lit, a single desk lamp casting an amber glow across the room as Jaden poured himself a glass of whiskey. The clink of ice against the crystal was sharp in the oppressive silence, but it did little to ease the storm brewing inside him. His jaw clenched as Eleanor’s voice echoed in his head.

“When can we expect a grandchild?”

Jaden took a long sip of the whiskey, the burn in his throat nothing compared to the heat of his anger. He slammed the glass down on the desk, the sound reverberating through the room. It wasn’t just his mother’s meddling that infuriated him—it was the audacity, the pressure, the complete disregard for his boundaries. This marriage wasn’t real, and yet Eleanor’s words had planted seeds of expectation that were now taking root in ways he hadn’t anticipated.
