Volume 3: The Tower of Blood

Chapter 5: First Recruitment

The massive hologram in Lee Hwan's new guild building glowed brightly, cycling through his stats, dragon levels, and available features. But what caught his attention now was a new blinking message:

[Guild Recruitment Now Available]

You may begin recruiting hunters, tower challengers, or awakened individuals to join your guild.

Guild recruitment benefits increase with guild fame and performance.

Lee Hwan stood up from his seat, walked to the balcony, and looked over the Seoul skyline.

"There are too many guilds focused only on fame," he muttered. "I need real strength… warriors who don't fear the Tower."

He raised his hand — his dragon aura flared, shaking the building momentarily.

Within moments, a system-wide notification was sent to all South Korean awakened individuals:

[Urgent Recruitment]

Draconic Shadow Guild is seeking elite challengers.

Minimum requirement: Level 40

Special test required.

Guild Master: Lee Hwan

Two Hours Later – Guild Training Grounds

Over 120 applicants stood outside the building. Some were elite players from mid-tier guilds. Others were lone survivors from the Tower's brutal floors. All of them had heard rumors about the mysterious man who had killed an entire assassin squad and cleared five tower floors solo.

Lee Hwan stood in front of them in a black long coat, his silver hair slightly glowing due to the dragon aura. His calm, cold gaze silenced everyone.

"I'm not here to waste time," he said. "You're not joining to wear a fancy badge. You're joining to survive the Tower. Only those who can fight side by side with death will stay."

He summoned one of his dragons — the Level 66 Flame Drake — in front of everyone.

The sheer pressure pushed many to their knees.

[You have activated Guild Initiation Test: Trial of the Flame]

The applicants had to survive one minute in the presence of the summoned dragon while under Lee Hwan's aura.

Within 30 seconds, over 80 applicants surrendered and left.

Only 11 remained.

From those eleven, Lee selected three — two swordsmen and one assassin — all with high potential and unique skill sets.

Lee turned to his new teammates.

"We start training at dawn. In two weeks, we return to the Tower… and I expect nothing but growth."
