After Felix leaves, Theo's house feels different. Quieter, but not empty. Just softer. Like something unspoken slipped out with him, and now the space is catching its breath.
Theo clears the cups without a word. I help him stack the dishes, the clink of ceramic echoing too loud in the hush he leaves behind. Rainbow weaves around our ankles like we're a single unit, brushing lightly against Theo's shin before disappearing into the bedroom.
"Want to stay a bit longer?" Theo asks after a moment, like he's just remembered I'm here.
I nod. "Sure."
"Board game?" he suggests.
I roll my eyes playfully. "Of course you play board games?"
He shrugs, already heading to the bookshelf beside the hallway. "Only the ones that don't require dice and betrayal."
"I guess you don't like betrayal."
"Who does?"
