Jack raised an eyebrow, maintaining his calm demeanor. "This is a missing persons case, and I have a responsibility to uncover the truth. Mr. Carter, can you tell me when you last saw your daughter?"
David seemed impatient, stepping aside as though wanting to end the conversation. "I don't understand why you're asking me this. I've already told you, she went out and didn't come back. You should be looking into where she went, not wasting time questioning me."
The tension in the room was palpable, but Jack didn't back down. His tone remained calm and firm. "Mr. Carter, this isn't just a simple missing persons case. I need to understand a bit more about your family. What's your relationship like with your daughter Rachel? Do you know what she's been up to lately?"
David's voice suddenly rose, his agitation clear. "You're just a nosy cop! Stay out of our personal business! Rachel's not a child; she can take care of herself. Stop making unfounded accusations!"
Jack didn't flinch. His gaze grew sharper. "I'm just trying to get to the truth. If you're uncomfortable answering some questions, you'd better be prepared to cooperate with the investigation." His voice grew slightly more forceful.
David's expression darkened instantly, his eyes full of obvious displeasure. "Are you trying to force me?" His voice dropped low, filled with threat, as he leaned forward, seemingly ready to explode at any moment.
Jack stood firm, preparing to apply more pressure in an attempt to get David to relax his guard. But just then, David suddenly shoved him, as if trying to push him away. Jack instinctively dodged to the side, but the unexpected move only heightened the tension in the room.
"You dare to touch me?" Jack's voice rose sharply, filled with anger and warning.
David's face turned crimson, his rage boiling over. "You're just a little cop, what right do you have to boss me around?!" he shouted, his eyes filled with hostility.
Jack reacted quickly, refusing to back down. He grabbed David's arms firmly and forced him against the wall, his tone cool and resolute. "Your actions are now considered assaulting an officer. You're under arrest."
David struggled violently, attempting to push Jack off with all his strength. But no matter how hard he tried, Jack maintained his grip, holding him in place. "Let go of me! How dare you touch me!" David continued to struggle, clearly trying to resist, but the disparity in their physical strength made his efforts futile.
Eventually, David's resistance grew weaker, while Jack remained in complete control of the situation, his expression nearly emotionless. Finally, Jack coldly stated, "You are under arrest for assaulting an officer."
Despite David's continued fury, Jack forced him to leave the house. The angry man was clearly dissatisfied with the situation, but he was powerless to change the outcome. Jack quickly signaled for other officers to assist in escorting David out of the house. The atmosphere in the room became heavy and silent.
