Chapter 93: Entering FF7

Thinking back and forth, Aiden couldn't come up with any good ideas of what to do. The only thing he felt was feasible was to take Roberta and the others to become mercenaries.

After all, with their current strength, they could completely match a hundred-person professional army.

However, this idea was quickly abandoned by Aiden, since he still couldn't act so unscrupulously in the real world.

So, Aiden felt it was better to just continue like this for now. He would eventually come up with a solution later. Anyway, he wasn't short of money now, and no matter how many people were at home, he could afford to raise them.

Just like that, time passed day by day.

During this time, Aiden didn't completely relax either, after all, the time to enter the next world was getting closer and closer.

Whenever he had free time, he would seize it to train, while also familiarizing himself with the skills of the two classes he had switched to.

He would also often pull Roberta and the others into sparring matches.

Of course, due to the limitations of the location, they often had to run far away to deserted and remote wilderness areas, and they also couldn't use guns, fearing they might accidentally encounter unaware passersby.

However, during the sparring, Aiden began to notice that Roberta and the others' strength seemed to have greatly improved compared to before, even showing signs of awakening or unlocking genetic locks.

This discovery made him very curious, so he asked the system.

The system replied that it was because the host became stronger, so all related characters would also become stronger.

This made Aiden very satisfied. This way, that reinforcement card he had never used before could now be put to use.

———

Very soon, the time for him to enter the next world was almost here.

On the afternoon before entering, Aiden, just like always, made preparations, putting all the items that might be useful into the system space.

After completing all the preparations, he stopped all training plans, stayed at home obediently to rest, and built up his energy.

However, some things didn't stop.

For example, every night, after Manuela and Fabiola had fallen asleep, Roberta would enter his room, and they would do things together.

Originally, Aiden wanted to refuse, but with a beauty in his arms, no man could resist. Besides, he also felt that properly releasing himself could also help ease the pressure of exploring the unknown world.

So, after the passion, when Roberta had fallen asleep, Aiden would get up at the right time from the bed, get dressed, and wait for the system's teleportation.

At midnight exactly, the system appeared on time. After a round of familiar dialogue, a white light enveloped Aiden.

With a half-asleep, half-awake feeling, the white light ended. Aiden immediately opened his eyes and found himself in a dirty, messy alley.

He touched the alley wall, it was reinforced concrete, indicating that the place he was in was a modern city.

"Let me see, which world is it this time,"

Muttering to himself, Aiden opened the system panel, then raised an eyebrow.

[Plot World: Final Fantasy 7]

[Plot Type: Fantasy, Alternate World, Sci-Fi, Magic-Tech]

[Plot Introduction: Midgar, a strange modern city, is controlled by a powerful company called Shinra.

In this city, there are strict class divisions. The massive gap between rich and poor means that only those living in the upper sector can enjoy a better life.

At the same time, the city contains eight Mako Reactors. These reactors use the planet's blood, known as the Lifestream, as fuel to power the city.

But due to excessive extraction of the Lifestream, the land around Midgar has become barren. In the slums, not even weeds can grow. Soon, a group called Avalanche, opposing Shinra, began to rise.

And you, as a traveler who arrived in this world unintentionally, seem to have nothing to do with these events…]

[Hint 1: Due to the host's arrival, the plot world will produce a butterfly effect, creating certain fluctuations.]

[Hint 2: This world has a high combat power level. Please be cautious.]

[Hint 3: The host's timeline is one month before the plot begins.]

"It's actually Final Fantasy 7."

After reading the plot introduction, Aiden took a deep breath, but was immediately choked and coughed. The smell in the alley was unpleasant, probably hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

Frowning, he ran out of the alley and arrived on a street.

Though it was night, the street was bustling with people. However, judging by their clothes, the rundown buildings around, and the dirty environment, this clearly wasn't a wealthy area.

"Looks like I'm in a slum. Just not sure which number it is?" Watching the passing people, Aiden began walking aimlessly, wondering which numbered slum he was in.

As the most famous masterpiece in the entire series, Aiden had naturally played Final Fantasy 7. He also knew that in this city called Midgar, there were eight slums, each corresponding to one of the city's Mako Reactors.

Above the central disc of the eight slums was the upper sector, a whole different world. That was the gathering place for the city's elites and rich, as well as a major industrial and commercial area. Ordinary slum folks who wanted to earn a living mostly had to take the train up to work, essentially being beasts of burden for exploitation.

The two female leads of the game, Aerith and Tifa, were from Slum 5 and Slum 7 respectively.

However, Aiden didn't know exactly which slum he was currently in, nor did he dare randomly ask passersby. After all, the entire Midgar was under Shinra's surveillance. Who knows, even the people on the street could be Shinra personnel.

If someone found out he was from outside the city, he would definitely be strictly monitored, maybe even tracked down by Shinra agents, which would be very passive.

So, he decided to wander around. Maybe he'd find some familiar building and know his location.

But he soon gave up that idea. Compared to the game, the real Midgar was ridiculously huge. Based on what Aiden had read online, Midgar was the size of two big cities. The slums that took up most of Midgar were each several times larger than his real-life city. On foot, it'd take days just to explore one slum, and he still might not finish.

Sighing slightly, Aiden walked a bit farther and came to a relatively remote street.

There were very few people here, only a handful passed in a long while. Aiden saw a bench by the road and went over to sit down. Then he pulled out a cigarette, preparing to calm his nerves.

But just as he put the cigarette in his mouth, before lighting it, he suddenly felt a gaze behind him.

Aiden was startled. He was about to turn around and draw his gun, but then thought, he had just arrived, hadn't exposed his identity as an outsider, no one should know him. And he didn't sense any malice, so he suppressed the urge to draw his gun and turned his head for a look.

Behind him was an alley identical to the one he'd come through. Under the dim streetlights, it looked dark and deep. Although Aiden's physique was several times stronger than normal, he didn't have night vision, so when he looked back, he saw nothing. That gaze had disappeared the moment he turned around.

'Haunted? Or just my imagination?' Aiden scratched his head, then turned back and resumed trying to light the cigarette.

But just as he lit it, that gaze returned, still staring at him.

Aiden had no choice but to look back again, once more, nothing.

'Hey! I've got a temper, and now I really want to see who's messing around.' Aiden gave up on the cigarette, stood up, and walked into the alley. But just as he reached halfway, from another nearby alley, several men holding clubs rushed out.

"Where did that girl run off to?" one of them shouted. He had a band with a pattern tied on his forehead, and with his deliberately vicious expression, he looked like a member of some delinquent gang.

"We've chased her so long, she must be tired and didn't go far, definitely still nearby," another said.

"Hey, you! Have you seen a little girl about this tall?" Another guy noticed Aiden, gestured at his own waist, and yelled at him.

"No." Aiden curtly spit out the word and turned to leave. He didn't want to stir up trouble in an unfamiliar place.

But the gang-like men wouldn't let him go. Exchanging looks, they surrounded him.

"You bastard, did grandpa let you leave?" The guy who looked like their leader pointed his club at Aiden.

"I already answered your question. What else do you want?" Aiden glanced at him.

"Of course, to make you kneel, then answer again." The leader shouted arrogantly.

"But my knees are very hard, they don't kneel." Aiden shook his head. "And I don't kneel to trash either."

"Then I'll beat you until you kneel!" The guy roared and swung his club at Aiden's knees.
