No Rest for the Reincarnated

Prologue: A Rest Well Earned?

Jin took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his years settle into his bones. He had lived a good life—an honest, simple life. No grand riches, no fame, no extraordinary feats to his name. Just a man who worked hard, cared for his family, and met the end of his days with no regrets.

As Jin exhaled for the last time, the world around him faded into darkness.

Then, brightness suddenly hit him. A soft, warm light enveloped his body as he slowly opened his eyes.

The first thing he saw was an endless expanse of white. No walls, no sky, just an infinite, glowing void stretching beyond sight.

"Welcome, Jin."

The voice echoed gently, yet it carried an undeniable weight. Jin started a bit, his mind still adjusting. He turned his gaze to the figure before him—a being of overwhelming presence, radiating an aura of divinity.

His throat felt dry:

"Who… are… Are you who I think you are?" "That depends. Do you know where you are?" - The being chuckled softly.

Jin looked around, baffled. A moment later, realization dawned upon him. He exhaled through his nose and nodded.

"I'm dead."

The god smiled.

"Indeed. And you have lived a life of kindness and virtue. Few can claim such honesty. As such, I grant you a reward before your next journey begins."

Jin remained silent.

"Before your reincarnation, you shall be granted a period of rest—one that aligns with your heart's deepest wish. A world of adventure, a land of swords and magic, one you have long dreamed of. You may live there as you please, with the memories of your past intact."

Jin's heart stirred at those words. He had spent his youth fascinated by stories of heroes, magic, and grand adventures. Now, he was being given the chance to live in one?

He took a deep breath and nodded.

The god's smile deepened and then continue:

"As your original world lives in peace, unlike the world you shall enter, I have prepared some gifts to give you wings—so that you may enjoy your time there without dying right away."

A warmth spread through Jin's body, something powerful and unseen settling within him.

"Now that you are fully ready…" - the God raised a hand, and the glowing void around them trembled - "Go, and enjoy."

Light consumed Jin's vision.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself lying beneath a massive tree, surrounded by the sounds of an unfamiliar forest. His body felt different—strong, filled with energy he had never known before.

Jin sat up, stretched his arms, and let out a small chuckle.

"This is gonna be interesting."
