Chapter 114 – Last Practice Before the Quarterfinal

Title: "Preparation Meets Opportunity"

The gym echoed with the familiar rhythm of bouncing basketballs, squeaking shoes, and Coach Daniels' sharp whistle.

The Wolves were locked in.Every drill. Every pass. Every shot.Focused.

Ryan wheeled up and down the sideline, clipboard in hand, eyes scanning the court like a hawk.

"Ben, hold your screen a little longer—Tyler, eyes up, always!" Ryan called.

Tyler nodded, wiping sweat from his brow. "Got it, Coach."

Savannah and the cheer team practiced off to the side, the gym buzzing with energy. Anna sat on the bleachers, notebook in hand, sketching plays and strategies, occasionally glancing up at Ryan with pride.

After a high-intensity full-court scrimmage, Coach Daniels blew the whistle and brought the team in.

"Alright, that's enough. Huddle up!"

Everyone gathered at center court, forming a circle around the coaches.

Ryan tapped the clipboard. "Okay. Quarterfinals. Our opponent? The Lakehurst Titans. They're big, physical, and they love to trap full court."

Ben's eyes narrowed. "Fast breaks?"

Ryan nodded. "Yeah. If we're not careful, they'll eat us alive. But they're sloppy when they get confident. That's where we hit them."

Coach Daniels chimed in, "We slow them down. Force them to play half-court. We control the tempo, we win the game."

Tyler leaned forward. "They have that tall guy, right? Number 11?"

"Deshawn Moore," Ryan confirmed. "He's their engine. We limit him, we rattle the whole team."

Ben cracked his knuckles. "I got him."

The team murmured in agreement, the tension rising—but so did the confidence.

Ryan looked at each of them. "You've come too far to stop now. You're not just playing for the win. You're playing to prove that this team, this story—it's not finished yet."

As the team broke the huddle, a fierce chant filled the gym.

"Wolves on three! One, two, three—WOLVES!"

Tomorrow, it would all come down to heart, grit, and every ounce of fire they had left.
