Elena pauses her story there and releases her children to their respective guardian groups. They go off and complete the rest of their curriculum for the day with the other professors and guides. Elena decides to do a walkthrough of campus, reliving some of the tours she's given in the past.
Elena always starts at the gates of Belle Crest when she does her tours so that way the new student can see most of the grounds. There are signs everywhere, but there is a path that guides through the whole campus to make sure tours are properly done. As Elena walks, she thinks about the memories brought to her by students. Her thoughts are interrupted by Professor Daphne Candria.
"Elena! I am so glad to see you this morning! How is everything?" Her smile is bright and it warms Elena's heart to see her.
"I am doing well! How were your classes today?" They had a brief conversation about class and then Daphne asked Elena for a favor.
"Elena, would you be willing to do a test tour for one of my students? She wants to become one of the guides for arriving students, but she needs to pass her practice test. I would do it, but I have been mentoring her and she needs an unbiased party."
"I would love to! Is she ready now?" Daphne nods and waves over the student. Daphne introduces her and she asks where it would be best to start in Elena's opinion. At that, they begin the tour at the gates of Belle Crest.
"Thank you, Professor Elena, for allowing me to do your tour. I am so excited to show you our home! Right here are the gates of Belle Crest School for the Unusually Gifted. If you look around, most of the campus is visible. Follow me, we are going to walk this path guided by the gold signs. If you get lost or lose track of me, please ask a nearby student to point you to the orientation path and you will be sure to find me!" The girls name is Kalia. She is a bit free spirited, but seems like a good fit. I nod kindly and look around the circle that holds the campus most common visiting areas.
"On our right are the two dorms where you will find rooms for each of the major gods and goddesses and the second building for the minor gods and goddesses, Titans, and professors. Following the bend of the circle, the next building is the Professors' Offices. After the offices, you will see Peacock Gem, a resource center with a community area. If you ever need anything, please go see the Hera House students. They are the royalty of campus and typically know anything and everything to do with events, clubs, and campus resources." I pause and ask a pretend clarifying question and we move onto the next building.
"The Forge is the epicenter of Trade Schools here on campus. Contrary to popular belief, The Forge houses more than just an armory, mechanic shop, or carpentry school. It also holds the seamstress classes, home economics, electrical center, and plumbing classes. It is what any college or high school would offer in a traditional school. On the third floor, there is a military school for our future fighters. They work closely with the Ares' kids in the Spar Zone."
We continue to walk around the circle. I recorded my marks about each building we have approached. The next few buildings were Love Potion, Owl Eye Nook, and the Dining Hall. Love Potion is the garden coffee shop that the entire campus visits anytime they get the chance. Owl Eye is the library and study center. She continues on to explain that there are two major academic buildings for traditional classes. Then she explains the other buildings on campus like Hestia's Hearth, Waves' Peak, Strike Stables, Lightning Point Restaurant and Sky Bridge, and Song of Healers, the hospital. She noticeably didn't mention The Fallen Fields (Hades' cemetery), Fine Life Speakeasy, and Hermes' Hideaway. I always thought it was funny that they don't mention these locations as if the professors are unaware of the buildings. The whole thing took about an hour and she timed it well.
Overall, I enjoyed the walk with Kalia. She will make an excellent guide, but for now, I need to return to Hestia's Hearth before the students get back. Once I get back, the students return and I start up the story again.
