Adrian’s POV
I didn't dislike hospitals. But since the accident with Letisha, it was fair to say I didn't particularly like them either.
I was already jet-lagged and pissed, so the scent of sickness and disinfectant didn't exactly do anything to buoy my mood.
This hospital was smaller than the one Letisha had been taken to. It was private, after all, and only catered to the people who could afford to be there—and there weren't that many people.
Perhaps this was why the sound of my steps echoed along the silent hallways as I made my way down to the room the nurse had indicated earlier.
I needed to get this visit over with so I could go back home to my wife. I didn't like leaving her, especially after something like last night had taken place.
But I also couldn’t ignore my mother.
I slid open the door to her hospital room, and came to a pause just inside when I saw the two women who occupied the room.
