My Mother's Illness

Meanwhile Alai was also given her car and house. She celebrated with her ED family and her mummy. Even though she got a better job, she had less time with her mother. She guessed more money means more sacrifices. Everything was finally moving in palace for Alai till one morning after a long night shift, she was about going home when a patient was rushed in. Snce, it was her last night, Alai decided to help. She came closer to get hear the name of the patient only to see her neighbor. Alai was very surprised and decided to ask who the patient was only to see that it was her mother. She stood there transfixed, tears from her eyes. Every attempt to call Alai proved abortive. They took me to the room. Alai could only whisper my mum and she broke down in tears. Every attempt to calm me down was not working and they gave me sedative. When I woke up, I was already calm checked everything and it was all normal except her Bp which they think was the cause of the collapse. Days turned to weeks and my mum was still there lying like a vegetable. I could not take it. I tried consulting different doctors through the help of friends Robin and Elena but there was no improvement.

All hope seems lost until my neighbor came to speak to me to meet a witch which helped her cure her illness when she was sick. Alai discharged the idea immediately seeing the witch as someone who extorts from people. How can she who preaches about modern medicine become a victim of traditional medicines. As time went on and Alai saw her mother going down and down. She decided to visit her neighbor. She could not watch the only family she has leave her like that and she did not care but even if it meant doing things she never thought she could. She was going. What Alai did not understand was why her life is like this filled with so many problems. It was like Joy is a curse to her life. Now that everything is going fine, her mother falls ill. She decided to visit her neighbor again. The neighbor welcomed her and told her how the woman healed her sickness and how she made someone who is brain dead alive again. She even called the person as evidence. I took the address and went immediately not wanting to delay before my efforts goes to waste.

luckily for me, the house was in our former area where we lived, just that it was near the bushy part of the village. I reached the house which is a very old, haggard looking house. If not that I was dealing with life and death, I would have gone back at this point. I knocked and knocked wondering if this is the right place. I was about to turn my back when I heard a noise, I shouted hello! An old woman came out and said Alai come inside. I looked at her and shouted oh! they have told you right and you want to claim that you know my name. Alai twinkle, a blessed soul from the goddess, daughter of Davis and Amelia born on 28th January 2000. Your father left you at 7 years old and you always have a dream every night due to trauma. Maybe, my mum had told you people. You were planning on going to see a doctor in India because of this issue. That sentence got me because I know that I have not told anybody. I entered into her chambers. She gave me a potion and said drink this and if for three days, you did not have any dream, I believe you will trust me because the journey is far. Out of anxiety, I asked I believe, won't my mummy die before then. Never, she said that's not parts of the plan. Plan I asked, try it and come back, she said something's are too complicated that the mouth cannot carry.

 Before, Alai tried to opened the door. She asked the old woman, can I know your name? The old woman answered Athalia and smiled.

 Alai went back, checked up on her mother and went home. She was so exhausted from the stress and the whole walking. She took the potion and slept off. Alai woke up the next morning as late a 7:20 am. She jumped up her bed very surprised, this was the first time she had ever slept this long maybe it was stress, then her mind then raced back that she did not dream today. This has been something no doctor had done ever since childhood. However, Alai did not conclude yet, she needed to be sure.

She waited for three days but there was no dream not even the slightest. Then she decided to go and meet the witch Athalia since it is also my off as well.

I went the next day, it did not take time before I reached the witch house as I already knew the road unlike before. When I got there, Athalia said welcome I knew you would come. Don't feel proud of yourself, I just came to tell you that it was all a waste, Alai said. Athalia then smiled and said you would not have been here. Alai squeezed her face and in a low tone said how can I save my mother? Athalia replied the Barbecue flower, a flower that can raise even the dead. Where is this flower? Alia asked. In the land of viron. Alia said okay, so, when are you getting the flower?

Athalia then answered when,that is yours to answer.You are to go to the land of viron to look for this viron. It is only found there. Really, out of all places viron. Is this a set up or something. Athalia smiled and cut herself with knife and said I swear on my blood. Alai paced back and forth in Athalia chambers wondering if she is going or not. She could not allow her mother to die like this.If there was no solution at all, it would have been better but now there is a solution and it's this. She knew that if it was the mother she would do more than this for her if possible. Alai thought for a long time before asking, What if my mum died before then?

Athalia answered her, she will not die, I promise you. Out of all places why viron, the land she detests so much but she had no choice. So, Alai. asked the woman for directions and the woman told her everything including directions and things she needed to go with. Alai went back home very confused, she headed straight to the neighbor that advised her to go. She then told the neighbor what the witch told her. The neighbor advised her to go even promised to look after the mum when she is gone.

 Alia knew that the neighbor and the mum had developed a kind of bond ever since they parked in, in as much as she doubted the witch but the faith had neighbor had in this woman was so much. Another thing is that her heart seems to be comfortable with what the witch said but first thing first she had to settle her workplace. She worked for complete one week no rest to be able to beg her colleagues to cover for her.She then wrote a letter of leave without pay, Her letter request was granted. She also made arrangements with her neighbor giving her the attorney of power over her mum. When she has finished every arrangement, she gathered her tools to go tomorrow morning. As she slept that night, she had a dream where many Men and women with a crown written Alpha and Luna were begging her, as she attempted to go, she heard her name being called and she turned only to see her mother Amelia saying Go fast my dear, you need to save me, please help me. Alia woke up and felt that this was a sign for her to go, she checked her phone and it is 6:00am, She immediately carried her bag, booked a taxi and went to the Zuma village, the nearest village to the forest the witch told her to go to.
