Axel found the events hard to believe but was still glad he was slowly gaining power. Maybe the whole situation was not even remotely under his control, but he was still glad to be alive.
Now, having come so close to death and with his body being a host to three different entities including himself, Axel was reminiscing and recollecting all that had happened so far.
Life had come fast, and many things had occurred, but now Axel was fed up and wanted control back. He wanted to live his life on his terms.
Axel's life had abruptly ended on Earth, and his soul transmigrated to a new world where he was offered some choices, but mostly, some strange old man had tried to sway and control him.
He did recall that he had caught the eye of the old man due to his peculiar talent and abnormal light affinity.
He had somehow escaped the old man's clutches but in turn, had pissed him off, and that resulted in him having a difficult birth upon entering the new world.
He had somehow survived due to the same tech that was supposed to harm him (planted by the Old Man) (Gizmo).
He did survive but became a cripple. Gizmo promised to resolve his problem in the course of 5 years, which presented Axel with a rare opportunity to access the vast repository of a biotech device, generations ahead if compared to tech that he had experienced on Earth.
Axel did learn a lot during that time, delving deep into the prospects of Elements and their Application. He had formed two cores, one of Thunder and another of Light in his abdomen. The two cores spun around each other like a twin nebula system.
He had learned ways to apply his powers but only in the virtual lab that Gizmo had created for him, something sort of a mind palace where he could practice and experiment on various things.
The major difference between an actual mind palace and Gizmo's virtual lab was the principles and laws that replicated those of the original world. While in a mind palace, anything and everything can happen, all according to the user's imagination, the virtual lab gave Axel an opportunity to conduct experiments with high accuracy (simulating the effects and laws of the world).
The results drawn from the virtual lab were credible and applicable in reality, not just a fragment of someone's imagination.
Axel came to know that his body also housed a small storage dimension where a highly lethal poison was stored, to be used by the system to harm and control Axel.
However, due to changes in circumstances, Gizmo was now on Axel's side, and the poison was at his disposal to be used as he wanted.
Axel had experimented with the poison a lot, but all at the virtual lab. He had yet to utilize his powers or the poison in the real world.
Over the years, Axel's understanding of elements had grown, and in addition to the elements, he had also taken up reading about the tales of the past. In the vast repository of Gizmo, Axel had read many tales of conquerors and pioneers of the past.
Learning of the cruelty of the place where he was now, it was hard to come to terms with his new life, but time was on his side, and changes were already seen now in Axel's way of thinking.
Somehow, after having survived the cruelty of time, Axel had grown in power and understood the fundamentals of his new world. But one thing that puzzled Axel was his peculiar affinity with the Light element.
Light did not behave the way it should in Axel's presence. Usually, in the Elemental plane, the light element is known for its healing and swiftness, but Axel could feel none of its usual attributes.
Though the light elemental particles did bend to his will, the particles behaved as if they were scared of Axel, as if they would be devoured the next instant if they didn't comply (Axel's point of view).
When Axel explained his intuition to Gizmo, Gizmo shunned him, saying that he was overthinking. Gizmo knew about Axel's peculiar Light element, but even for Gizmo, Axel's narration seemed too farfetched.
While Axel had difficulty in applying the theory regarding the Light element to practice, his extraordinary control over the element made it easier for him.
He couldn't use the element using the mentioned techniques (which he learned via Gizmo), so he was slowly learning to adapt his usage of the element. Still, his high affinity made him seem like a generational talent.
While Axel's Light element was tricky, the same was not true for his Thunder element. His affinity for Thunder was not comparable to his light affinity, but it was still very strong.
His Thunder affinity might be even better than his ancestors in the Blair family.
His thunder affinity was lacking as compared to his light affinity, but Axel's knowledge of Earth helped him a lot in progressing rapidly. He had a background in physics and, luckily, he was an expert in electromagnetic waves and field modulation (did his research in those subjects).
He had seamlessly applied the theories of physics in this magical world and reaped tremendous rewards. His elemental knowledge and power concerning the thunder element were in a class of its own.
Now all that was left for him was to regain control over his body and begin his adventure in this new world, but life had other plans.
When Axel was bedridden, he tried to be as productive as possible while always being engaged in either learning or experimenting. But he was often disturbed by the cruelties of the servants working in the Blair household.
Axel knew that his family had treated him with contempt due to his special condition, but the daring acts of the servants made him realize that the situation was dire.
Axel later came to know that the mastermind behind it all was none other than the head butler Silas.
Axel simply endured the inhumane treatment and bided his time for his eventual revenge.
At the promised time when Gizmo was healing Axel, Axel was soon to be a completely healthy boy (Due to Gizmo's involvement, all his muscles were in top condition). But before Axel's longing would come to fruition, something unexpected happened.
Axel's skill was being formed at that time, and only later would Axel and even Gizmo realize that this skill was different and special, as the skill was not for a normal elementalist but for a future Monarch.
Yes, Gizmo had only speculated that Axel might be a monarch's Candidate, but that was in fact true. Axel would be a future Monarch. But what actually is a monarch and how it changes things is a story for another time.
The skill that Axel got was "Seven Star-Legend Creation". It randomly generates seven alter egos to help Axel in any way or form. The first alter ego generated from the skill was Kael. The first of the Seven from Axel's Primal skill.
Kael was the ego of a blood demon with centuries of knowledge pertaining to almost all languages in the Universe. At the time of the skill manifestation, Kael did not reveal himself to Gizmo or Axel and even tried to hide his existence by not letting the skill info divulge to Axel.
Kael wanted to study the advanced bioengineering tool Gizmo at length first.
After Axel was healed, he just wanted to enjoy the sensation of being alive and healthy by taking a short run in the garden, but his joyous moment was short-lived.
Due to Silas' involvement, Axel was teleported into a foreign cave with the help of a space artifact.
Silas was actually part of an underground shady organization known by the name 'Crimsons'. It was a relatively dormant organization with a history spanning a hundred years.
Crimsons have been patiently working in the shadows, making connections and trying to establish their pawns in positions of power. Their strength lies in their secrecy and anonymity as, except for the name of the organization, not much is known even to its members.
Silas was provided with funds and instructed to completely have the next generation of Blairs under his control. Silas had already worked his magic on Tim.
For years, Silas was not able to have any edge over Tim, and being the proclaimed next head of the house Blair, it was not so easy to influence him without scrutiny, but things changed after the birth of Axel.
Being born the way he was, Axel was mistreated by his parents, but Silas planted a seed of hatred in the mind of Tim. Tim was already influenced by his parents' behaviour and thought of Axel as nothing but a waste of space, but due to Silas' influence, this slight misapprehension soon took the form of hatred.
Silas' plans were sailing smoothly, but he didn't expect the emergence of a young and talented Anya. Anya had always been a diligent and hardworking child who excelled in anything that she put her heart into, but she was looked down on in the family for two reasons.
Due to her being a girl, she was not considered an apt candidate to be the next heir as families ruled by a matriarch are usually considered weak (though their mother Hilda was the strongest in their immediate family), and the other reason being her close relation with Axel.
To Silas, Anya was not a threat until her strong Fire Affinity was revealed. Anya's talent was many times better than that of Tim's, and her path as an Elementalist would surely be more fruitful than that of her brother, and this posed a big problem for Silas who had spent years in grooming Tim and his hatred.
In his desperate moment, Silas was approached by his organization and given a way out. Silas received a letter with a crimson stone, where clear instructions on how and when to use the stone were detailed.
The 'Crimsons' were in possession of a rare space artifact that came in pairs. While they had access to the space stone that Silas had used, the other part of the stone was somehow fixed within the cave where Axel had arrived.
The Crimsons had decided to take Axel out of the picture by teleporting him into the cave which was in the middle of nowhere in a deserted backward forest. They had hired the only elementalist in the area and tasked him with killing the boy to avoid the matter of chance.
They had hoped that in the event of Axel's death, Anya would be easily influenced by Silas in a manner that would suit their purposes. Silas would try and plant a seed of mistrust in Anya's head over the mysterious disappearance of Axel and in turn, would slowly become her only confidant in the household.
The level-1 wood elementalist was delayed in reaching the cave which allowed Axel to roam free for the time being. (For everyone else, Axel was a cripple who couldn't move, so they didn't expect him to explore the cave.)
Even within the ranks of Crimson, the cave was a mystery due to the presence of the space artifact. They had tried their luck by exploring the cave but found it completely useless besides the space artifact itself.
The Space Artifact itself would have made it worthwhile for them, but the other part of the artifact was fixed, thus passage was one way and the destination was not too lucrative in itself.
The Crimsons had no idea that the cave held captive a natural disaster in the form of Lilith and the Space artifact was the original possession of the said Disaster.
