Changing Personality

Axel felt a bit annoyed by the changes not within his control, but any bit of power that he got along the way would ensure his survival, so he didn't mind.

Even the idea of going against the human empires didn't disturb him, as he was ready to fight tooth and nail for his life and protect what he would build along the way. He was ready to burn down the world if it meant ensuring his interests.

Axel was a bit taken aback, taking stock of his own thoughts. As Kael told him, he was getting a bit aggressive with time, and he was certain it had something to do with the bloodline that he now belonged to.

'Kael, I get what you are saying, but before you continue about the "Why" and our way back home, I would like to know if this so-called bloodline has the ability to change the very nature of the person,' asked Axel with caution in his voice.

Kael could understand why Axel had such thoughts, but he knew the "Why" for Axel gaining this bloodline was part of the answer that Axel sought.

'Kid, you are a keen observer. Yes, the bloodline is capable of bringing about such changes, and the one that you have absorbed is especially likely to do so. But...' Kael paused before continuing.

'But you don't need to worry—the presence of your tin-man, the one and only Gizmo, would alleviate that problem of ours. But before we go ahead with our conversation, let's come back to what I was elaborating, as it is part of the answers that you seek.'

'The answer to the question that I posed: "From where did you get the bloodline, and why?" The answer to the "where" is simple—Lilith—but the "why" is a bit more elaborate.'

'You know, I was the one who substituted certain parts of the soul contract by using ancient demon language. Well, what I simply did was make you the master and Lilith the slave.'

'But the soul contract was also empowered by some sort of artifact that Lilith had used. I don't know why she did that, but now I am more sure than ever. So, you can take the example of a car: what Lilith did was empower the engine of the car that was running towards you, but I simply changed its direction towards Lilith.'

'So, the soul contract, which was empowered by the artifact, had to make Lilith your slave, which was very difficult as she was much more powerful than you. So what it did was extract the purest bloodline essence from Lilith and implant it onto you.'

'Now, this is where the fun part begins, because this was entirely accidental. The soul contract did that to enforce the clause that we had put in it, but the one empowering the soul contract was Lilith herself. The soul contract had the permission to kind of tamper with her to some extent, as she was the one willing for the contract to succeed.'

'So, Lilith was stripped of the purest bloodline essence in her body, and this is the source of your bloodline. Now, remember that bloodlines are very mysterious and powerful, as they are either created by mutation from the original one over a long course of time or by merging the two, either simply by creating an offspring or by forbidden magic like a blood pact.'

'Well, the chances for both are very rare; otherwise, there would have been billions of bloodlines in this entire universe. But that is not the case—although there are many bloodlines, they are not to that extent.'

'So, coming back to the point, the bloodline that you absorbed was the purest one extracted from Lilith by accident, but due to her own will. So, it is my theory that what you absorbed kid, might be the bloodline of the original blood demon—so strong and mysterious that you can't even imagine it.'

'But this is just my theory, as it is true that what you have absorbed is indeed very pure. But while assimilating with you over time, there might be variations and mutations that we might not have expected either, making the bloodline a bit weak in the process.'

'So, it's all in the hands of fate and chance now,' explained Kael.

'I get what you are saying, and the potential of it all seems very promising. But come back to the present, will you? You say that you hated reading books and all that, but I swear you speak like a history fanatic when you are elaborating on these matters,' said Axel mockingly.

'Kid, you are such a brat sometimes, you know that. I do agree, I don't like all that history stuff, but what is happening with you is unprecedented, you know. If it all goes well, then you might become a powerhouse in the future, and the foundation of it all is laid in moments like these. And what present are you talking about? Can't you feel the energy overflowing within you due to the essence that you absorbed?'

'Do you think you would have survived so long against the two level-1 Elementalists for so long without having received the help of the essence that you absorbed? Even with all that planning of yours, it was impossible to even execute that plan if your body had not been empowered by the essence and your core strengthened to store much more elemental essence than before,' said Kael, visibly annoyed by being termed as a fanatic by a kid who was wet behind the ears.

'You think you know so much due to your experience on Earth, but even that whole planet is an infant considering its timeline compared to the history of the universe,' continued Kael.

Axel was taken aback by Kael's outburst, but he knew Kael was right. Still, he wanted to make his point clear.

'I didn't mean it like that. I didn't know you had a serious side to you. Well, anyway, what I meant was: how would Gizmo help me with the bloodline affecting my personality, and how is all this linked to us going back home?' asked Axel in a firm tone.
