Sasuke really admired Natsuki's brain at this moment.
He couldn't figure out how Natsuki came up with so many wild ideas.
However, Sasuke was a bit upset.
When Natsuki learned that Sasuke's chakra was insufficient, he just told Sasuke to figure it out on his own.
But when he heard that Tenten lacked chakra, he immediately thought of the chakra battery idea for her.
So, girlfriends are more important than friends, huh?
Natsuki, I didn't expect you to be a guy who prioritizes girls over bros!
Sasuke thought about it and suddenly said:
"Kakashi... sensei, I also want to learn fūinjutsu (Sealing Techniques). Can I?"
Kakashi was surprised.
"You want to learn too? Why all of a sudden?"
"Well, um..."
Sasuke couldn't think of a proper reason.
He couldn't exactly say it was to prepare for becoming a jinchūriki in the future, right?
But suddenly, he remembered something and instinctively covered his shoulder.
Kakashi immediately jumped to a conclusion.
"Oh, it's because of that jūin (Cursed Seal). Makes sense. Your jūin isn't stable. If you learn fūinjutsu, you'll be able to handle it on your own, even without me around."
"Alright, you can learn it too."
Sasuke blinked, not expecting that explanation.
But he quickly reacted.
"Thank you, Kakashi... sensei!"
Natsuki secretly shook his head.
Looks like Sasuke's idea of becoming a jinchūriki was still there.
If he really wanted to go down that path, then the only option would be the Sanbi (Three-Tails).
After all, the Sanbi was the only bijū that revived alone after its jinchūriki's death.
Since this world had its own original plot twists, Orochimaru would definitely have plans for the Sanbi in three years' time.
In that case, if Sasuke had the talent for fūinjutsu, he should be able to master the shishō fūin (Four Symbols Seal) in three years.
By then, sealing the Sanbi into his body wouldn't be an issue.
This was actually one of the ways to deal with Akatsuki.
Maybe even Tsunade would agree.
Kakashi didn't waste any time.
He brought both of them back to his house and opened the secret chamber where the scrolls were stored.
Natsuki glanced around and noticed that there was an entire bookshelf dedicated just to fūinjutsu scrolls.
Many of them were probably left by Sakumo, and some might have come from his sensei, Minato, and Kushina.
But from now on, they would all belong to Natsuki.
"As for fūinjutsu, this is all I've got," Kakashi said, pointing at the bookshelf.
"Natsuki, what fūinjutsu did you learn from Jiraiya-sama?"
Natsuki quickly answered,
"Just four: gogyō fūin (Five Elements Seal), shishō fūin (Four Symbols Seal), fūinjutsu (Sealing Technique), and fūka hōin (Fire Sealing Method)."
Kakashi facepalmed.
"No wonder you couldn't learn it. Those are all high-level seals. Just the shishō fūin is enough to seal a bijū. It's normal that you couldn't master it. How many basic-level fūinjutsu have you learned?"
Natsuki felt a little embarrassed.
"I learned quite a few D-rank ones, and a few C-rank ones. Shino helped me find most of them."
That actually surprised Kakashi.
"Your foundation is solid enough. Next, focus on learning B-rank and A-rank techniques.
I don't have S-rank seals, but for making the battery, that should be enough."
He then turned to Sasuke.
"And you? How much fūinjutsu have you learned?"
Sasuke awkwardly admitted,
"Um... none."
But Kakashi was relieved.
"Then start with the D-rank ones. Don't aim too high. Foundation is the most important. Once your fundamentals are solid, you can learn the advanced stuff faster."
Sasuke nodded.
"I understand."
Of course, he knew this principle.
He would build a solid foundation first, but his ultimate goal was still the shishō fūin.
Since Kakashi said the shishō fūin could seal a bijū, there was no way he'd miss it.
Soon, Kakashi packed two large bags of scrolls and handed them to Natsuki and Sasuke.
He reminded them,
"Take your time learning.
No need to rush.
Don't neglect your daily training either.
Once you've got the basics down, just return the scrolls.
Sasuke, once you're done with the D-rank ones, get the higher-level scrolls from Natsuki.
Talk it out between yourselves.
If you run into any problems, come and ask me."
Natsuki and Sasuke didn't hold back.
They thanked Kakashi and, a week later, took the large bags of scrolls home.
To show their gratitude, they even treated Kakashi to a meal at Ichiraku Ramen.
The guy didn't hold back either, eating several big bowls.
Luckily, it didn't cost much.
Once he got what he wanted, Natsuki couldn't wait to head home and went into closed-door training mode again.
Time passed in the blink of an eye, and a month later, Konoha was bustling with activity.
A group of Jonin had been summoned to the Hokage Building.
Not long after, news spread:
Tsunade-hime, granddaughter of the First and Second Hokage, and disciple of the Third Hokage, would become the Fifth Hokage!
This news immediately set the entire village abuzz.
Everyone was talking about it, and a wave of excitement spread.
More than that, people felt reassured.
They all said, a country can't be without a ruler for a day, and a village can't be without a Hokage for a day either.
Now that someone was taking up the mantle of Hokage, and that someone was one of the Legendary Sannin, Tsunade-hime, it naturally put everyone's minds at ease.
After all, it was Tsunade!
One of the Legendary Sannin!
The granddaughter of the First and Second Hokage!
The disciple of the Third Hokage!
A perfect lineage and tremendous strength—nothing could make the people feel more confident.
Everyone believed that under Tsunade's leadership as the Fifth Hokage, Konoha would flourish once again.
Of course, not everyone was happy.
The one person who wasn't was Danzō.
Danzō had always wanted to become Hokage, but his ambitions had never come to fruition.
Even after Hiruzen's death, he still couldn't make it happen.
Now that Tsunade was confirmed as the Fifth Hokage, and had the support of the Daimyō, all the major clans, the Jonin, the ninja corps, and even the villagers, there was nothing more he could do.
"Am I really destined to never achieve my dream of becoming Hokage? How could I accept that?"
No one else cared about Danzō's thoughts.
Even if they knew, they wouldn't take it seriously.
Everyone was celebrating Tsunade's imminent appointment as the Fifth Hokage.
Meanwhile, Tsunade herself was getting busy.
Konoha was, in a word, a mess.
A mountain of problems had piled up after Hiruzen's death.
Tsunade had to clean up everything now.
On top of that, Orochimaru's Konoha Crush had exposed many issues that urgently needed to be dealt with.
The sheer number of documents was enough to give Tsunade a headache.
She even considered running away.
After all, she hadn't been officially appointed yet—she could still make a break for it.
But her assistant, Shizune, wouldn't let her.
Shizune had always been the quiet, obedient follower, but now that Tsunade was back in the village and set to become Hokage, she was the happiest one of all.
There was no way she'd let Tsunade run off now.
In the meantime, there was a little drama when Konohamaru tried to take over the Hokage office and wouldn't let Tsunade work, but that was a minor issue that was quickly resolved.
Right now, Tsunade was holding a list, considering who to promote to Chūnin.
After all, Konoha was short on manpower, and the recent Chūnin Exams had produced a batch of Genin.
It was a good time to pick a few outstanding ones for promotion to Chūnin and bolster the ranks.
