Leo’s POV
“How about a vampire protocol pop quiz?” I said, steering with one hand and flicking a lollipop onto the passenger seat. “Three right answers and you get to drive this beast for ten minutes.”
Evelyn blinked, caught off guard, but caught the lollipop mid-air. “Wait—really?”
“Would I joke about something as sacred as driving privileges?” I grinned. “Let’s start. Question one—standard vampire ops.”
“Easy,” she said, already peeling the wrapper. “Scanners always on for energy fluctuations. UV torches within reach. Silver-nitrate rounds—headshot to slow, heart shot to kill. If they’re still moving, hit the spine.”
“Nice,” I nodded. “Textbook perfect. Question two—you’re the first on a suspected supernatural crime scene. What do you do first?”
“Secure the perimeter,” she replied instantly. “Activate psychic sensor grid. Don’t touch anything until readings stabilize. If it spikes above Level 2, wait for backup.”
