Lucas’s POV
It started with a headline.
“Senator Clark Condemns Online Misinformation Campaign: Calls Accusations Against Daughter ‘Unstable Ramblings.’”
I scrolled through the article slowly—not because I cared to absorb every carefully written lie, but because I liked watching it unfold. They’d crafted it well. Tight structure. Clear villain. All the right buzzwords.
The senator’s face filled the screen. Polished, composed, deeply offended. “We ask the public to recognize that the young woman behind these claims is under extreme emotional and psychological distress. Her history speaks for itself.”
Of course, they didn’t cite anything specific. That wasn’t the point. Just enough implication to make the public suspicious. Alicia: mentally unstable, emotionally erratic, possibly dangerous.
I didn’t react. Just clicked the next link.
