Chapter 35: Healing and Rebirth

Ron’s POV

In a makeshift shelter within the now dilapidated warehouse, my injured packmates were lined up in rows, using what little good space we had. Most of them had their fur charred, burns weeping from Ryan’s flames. Those who had managed to shift amidst the pain didn’t look any better in their human form. Blood gushed from their hands, some with huge gaps in their flesh, broken legs, burnt skin, and body parts twisted at painful, odd angles.

The area stank of blood and ash, thick with the pain of what had just gone down.

Elina, unlike Ryan, who grumpily followed his lover to this side, walked through the chaos with me with a determination and magnanimity that still shocked me, despite witnessing it earlier.
