Chapter 37: Match

Isaac’s POV

Standing at the edge of the stadium’s control booth, my glasses reflected the pulsing lights of the court below. The deafening chants of the crowd below felt distant like static in my head. Tapping lightly on my console, I commanded a swarm of drones to hover above the arena.

Ryan had told me he'd be there in minutes, which was impossible by car or flight, so that left me with one conclusion. He was flying himself here.

That headache.

As expected, a collective gasp swept through the crowd as the stadium doors burst open. In full dragon form, Ryan landed in the center of the court, wings casting shadows over the seats. Seated on his back was Elina. She looked pale, yet at the same time, seemed to be glowing with pride. There were two other occupants, Ron and Sigrid, whom Ryan mentioned. Unlike Elina, who looked comfortable, the two were clinging to his scales for dear life.
