Elina’s POV
Hearing from Adam that my past self used to be Lucas’ best friend was surreal. However, strangely, it felt familiar — as if I was meant to have someone like Lucas by my side, running around, singing, and just enjoying the breeze. I felt all those things even though I didn’t recall them. It doesn’t mean I never tried hard though — I did. It’s just that anytime I tried to concentrate on it, it felt like a huge fog had settled over that part of my brain, and the harder I tried to lift it, the more my head hurt.
Eventually, both Adam, Ryan, and Lucas talked me out of trying to remember, saying it would come naturally when it was time — no need to harm myself.
Now, after Adam put together all the bits of information he’d gathered on Lucas’ whereabouts, we agreed that he would lead me to where Lucas was most likely to be, and then I’d be left on my own to try and convince him.
