Dragon's kiss

I could sense it in the air, even before the wind stilled and the rustling of leaves died down. I perked up inside the tent and almost immediately heard Ryan's loud voice boom across our camp.


“Ambush!!” I rolled out of the tent and ran forward to Ryan's side. Isaac, Lucas, and Adam joined us a second later.


My eyes were fixed on the valley where our foe descended towards us like a storm cloud.


“It's the Phantom Holy Knights,” Isaac said beside me. “Remember what we planned, everyone, just stick together and watch each other's flanks.”


We all nodded and exchanged encouraging looks and nods. This fight was going to stretch us, individually and as a team.
