NOAH MILES

The man with waist-length silvery hair brandished the long sword he was using at the roaring monster, the monster he was facing had long fangs and a large black body. Noah was right above the monster, standing floating and pointing the long sword and began to release his energy.

The sword was on fire, the red-colored flames looking so hot and terrible. Noah deftly flew towards the monster, with one slash hitting the monster's head and splitting it into two pieces, the monster fell down and died. He glanced at his watch, twenty minutes.

When he came back down, the assigned Esper had just come into the Dungeon.

Noah sighed, he opened the floating green screen in front of him, pressing the teleport button without exchanging greetings with them. Noah was now in another place, one of the dungeons that had just appeared.

Today he had a lot of work to do, with three missions to complete. Luka had warned him to complete them in three hours. He already felt his chest burning, and his body temperature rising slightly.

He entered the dungeon, his feet just hitting the ground. This was the last dungeon.

"Ah, Noah!" One of the Esper who was already there greeted him cheerfully.

Noah only bowed slightly to exchange greetings, his face still looking stiff and expressionless. His slender body with a small waist looked elegant, but it was all muscle, Noah had beautiful abs with quite a little big chest. He walked over to the few Esper who were opening their floating screens.

"The monster hasn't shown up yet?" Asked Noah to start the conversation, he took a hair tie from his pants pocket and started to tie his long hair. His body temperature had risen again, he was sweltering. He tightened the belt that tied his body, especially at the neck.

"We've been waiting for twenty minutes, but there's no sign of monsters here." Erina, one of the A-level Esper who had been on several missions with him was checking the floating screen, she confirmed the energy and location of the monsters. None.

Noah wandered around, this dungeon didn't look like anything out of the ordinary. The expanse of green grass with the fragrance of blooming flowers makes it seem like a safe place, the tall trees block the sunlight but not make this place dark, on the contrary, it feels cool and comfortable here.

As he walked towards one of the flowers and observed it, he looked up at the huge trees that were like nature's umbrellas.

"Hey, this place..." When he looked at the four Espers who had been standing behind him now in an unconscious state, Noah sighed. He now understood how this dungeon worked, by making them comfortable and relaxed, the dungeon sucked up the energy of anyone who entered it.

It wasn't that they didn't find monsters in here, this dungeon was a monster itself. He took out a floating screen and informed the Guild center about this, he could solve this problem by himself but it would probably endanger the unconscious Esper.

He flew towards one tree after another, convinced that this dungeon had a core. This was a new dungeon with an A+ level, there was no exact info on how to eliminate this dungeon before. If there were no monsters inside, then there was a core that Noah could attack.

A notice appeared in front of him, a notice about the Esper who had been moved out of the Dungeon. The rescue squads must be preparing outside since this was a new dungeon.

Noah looked around, then he smelled something other than flowers. He stood on the branch of a tall, wide tree, casting his eyes again over the lush green grass, the blossoms blowing in the wind, the sunlight streaming in through the gaps in the leaves. The sound of the grass rubbing against each other as the wind blew made, Noah sharpen his hearing.

"The smell of flowers, the smell of grass, the smell of trees, the smell of..." He stopped his mumbling.

Ah, there it is.

He leapt from the branch he was on, flying towards the sky, the light shining between the leaves.

"Bingo!" He smiled widely when he found a large eyeball emitting light. Immediately he swung the sword with blazing fire, BAAMMM! The loud sound was deafening. One swing and the scene turned into a pitch-black location that emitted an unpleasant odor.

As expected, the monster created a beautiful place and the sunlight was its way of sucking up the energy of the people who entered this dungeon.

Noah held his chest again, this was the maximum he could use. He immediately went to the teleportation location point, DEGG. His chest felt so hot, his stomach felt sick.

"Ah, damn it..." He muttered, he took out the floating screen and was about to press the teleportation button when his ears felt buzzing and his head suddenly hurt.

"Arghh..." He roared in pain, clutching his head and chest. And his vision went dark.

Noah opened his eyes, he sighed after seeing the white roof. Luka must have saved him again, he got up and sat on the bed, he wasn't wearing a single piece of clothing under the covers. But... uh? He turned his head right and left, he recognized this room of course, this was his own residence. But, why? Is it the next day and he will start a new task?

"You're awake." Luka said with a big smile, walking into the room with a glass of cold water in his hand. "Drink up."

When he almost went on a berserk that day and destroyed the entire city, Luka put him to sleep. However, he woke up and asked Luka to keep putting him to sleep. He didn't want to wake up, he didn't want to face reality.

"Uh, Noah, you know that you're needed again to perform tasks, right?"

Noah glanced at Luka who's now lowered his head and fiddling with his fingers. He looked so awkward. Noah could hear the sound of his racing heartbeat, Luka is nervous.

"Yes, that's what I'm doing now. Complete the mission, go into long sleep mode and repeat."

"But you know that it makes your body unstable, right? Your power starts to become a time bomb if you don't have a Guide."

Noah put the glass on the nightstand next to his bed, he looked at Luka.

"You made drugs to soothe the turmoil of my power." He said while pointing at Luka.

"Noah, you know it won't last long. I'm developing the drugs, after all I created the drugs only for emergencies like when the Esper enter the S+ Dungeon without Guide level S and S+. They can use the drugs until they can get out of there, it's not meant for regular consumption."

Luka rambled on at length. Noah brushed his hair with his fingers.

"Then?"

"We won't put you to sleep anymore."

Now he looked angrily at Luka, "What do you mean?"

"The director and president of the guild have already decided that, they won't put you to sleep every time you complete a task and won't give you access to the drugs I'm developing. Instead, they gave you a Guide."

Noah lowered his head, his long hair unraveling to cover part of his face, "Hey Luka, you know why I don't accept a Guide, right?"

"Noah…"

"You know my power won't let me die no matter what condition I'm in, right?"

"Noah….."

"You should know better and be able to explain to them why I refuse to have a Guide." Noah's hands gripped the sheets tightly.

"Noah, you come here and your energy returns to normal without drugs."

"The guild president and director sent a Guide to the dungeon's location, your Guide brought you back here and neutralized your energy without setting you on fire."
