Chapter 68: Gordius Wheel vs. Gate of Babylon

Night had fallen. Beneath the surface of this incomparable tranquility, everything was surging with hidden currents.

"It seems someone is challenging me!" Iskandar looked into the distance. A surge of powerful magical energy was calling to him. "In that case, I shall also begin the struggle!"

With a flourish, Iskandar drew his Celtic longsword and raised it high into the sky.

The Gordius Wheel descended once more from the heavens.

"Let's go, Master. We mustn't keep them waiting."

Iskandar extended his hand toward Waver.

But Waver's expression faltered. He was just a small-time magus, a newcomer whom even the lecturers at the Clock Tower dismissed. In truth, his presence was nothing more than a hindrance to the mighty King of Conquerors.

Now, the hero in his heart was about to charge into battle—what could someone like him possibly do?

"My Servant, I, Waver Velvet, issue Command Seal number 'Three Zero Zero'!"

Waver raised one of his hands. Upon it, three crimson Command Seals still glowed brightly.

"Rider, you must make the Sword of Victory stand tall!"

One of the seals vanished from his hand, but Waver felt no regret—in fact, he smiled.

"Again, in the name of the Command Seals! Rider! You must defeat the powerful enemy who approaches!"

The second Command Seal faded. Waver declared resolutely:

"Finally, in the name of the Command Seal!"

He raised his hand high. In that moment, he finally found the courage to meet Iskandar's gaze.

"Rider, you must conquer the world!"

Magical energy surged with explosive force, all of it pouring into Iskandar. This might have been the most powerful moment of Waver's life.

He looked down at the back of his hand. The once-vivid crimson markings had completely disappeared.

"In that case... I am no longer your Master."

Waver turned away, unable to face Iskandar's expression. "He'll probably be sad because of my cowardice... or maybe happy to be free from a useless Master like me."

"You're free now. Go."

He spoke again.

At this moment, he expected to hear the roar of the departing chariot.

But instead, the next second—he was lifted up and thrown directly onto the chariot!

"Alright! Let us face all challenges together!!"

"What!!! You idiot!!!"

Waver shouted in shock.

"I'm not your Master! Why are you still carrying me, this dead weight!!!"

"You were never just my Master. You are my friend!!"

Waver froze. His eyes welled with tears. Choked with emotion, he asked:

"Do I... really have the right?"

"You fool!! We!! Are comrades who fight side by side!!!!!!"

The King of Conquerors laughed heartily. He had no idea that his words would warm Waver's entire life.

The chariot roared forward—the two of them united as one to face the mighty enemy—

Gilgamesh!!!

The chariot descended from the sky like a thunderbolt, crackling with lightning that tore through the dark night. They arrived at their destination under the bright moonlight, making the night feel far from dark.

"Look! It's him!!!"

In the moonlight, they spotted a figure bathed in radiant gold.

Powerful golden brilliance radiated from her, exuding the supreme majesty of a king. Pride gleamed on her face, and a sharp, dangerous glint flickered in her red eyes.

It was—Gilgamesh!!!

Waver froze in place, paralyzed by the oppressive aura radiating from the King of Heroes.

"What's wrong?"

Iskandar noticed the fear in Waver's heart. He set Waver down gently, then boldly drove the ox-cart forward.

"Waver, just watch from the side for now."

"What?"

Gilgamesh stepped forward as well. Staring at Iskandar, she asked coldly:

"Are you prepared to die?"

"Your words are still as unpleasant as ever," Iskandar sighed. "Can't we be friends?"

"I only have one friend."

"Arthur?"

"No. Enkidu."

"Then Arthur?"

"He is my beloved."

"What!" Iskandar seemed to have stumbled upon a hidden treasure. "Hahaha! Ahahaha! Hahahaha!!!"

"Mongrel, have you laughed enough?"

Gilgamesh scowled, voice thick with irritation.

"Enough, enough. I just didn't expect you to... like men!"

Iskandar still couldn't quite believe it, but Gilgamesh had no intention of explaining. Instead, she summoned Vimana from the Gate of Babylon and leapt onto it.

"Since you've laughed enough—then go die!!!"

As Gilgamesh's sharp aura intensified, Iskandar gripped the reins of the Gordius Wheel tightly.

"To actually face off against Rider and the Gordius Wheel… Gilgamesh, you've got guts!"

Iskandar laughed heartily, then yanked the reins, sending the divine bulls and the chariot soaring into the sky.

Without hesitation, Iskandar turned and fled into the distance!

"Trying to run!?" With a thought, Gilgamesh had Vimana take off in hot pursuit!

"The King of Heroes is actually chasing me!?"

A sly grin appeared on Iskandar's lips. "But this is a chariot! You think it'll behave so nicely?"

Suddenly, Iskandar dropped altitude and entered a nearby grove. Gilgamesh followed, Vimana descending into the trees to give chase.

Unfortunately for her—this was Gordius Wheel.

Iskandar tore through the trees like a tempest, the chariot crushing everything in its path.

"Goldie! Try to keep up, won't you!?"

The trees collapsed in droves, as if being harvested by a force of nature. Seeing the destruction ahead, Gilgamesh's expression twisted into a frown.

"This guy!!!"

Trees were flung aside, and a downpour of leaves filled the air. The barrage of shattered trees surged toward Gilgamesh with ferocious impact!

He had two options—crash through, or slow down. But as the Oldest King, retreat was not in his vocabulary.

Controlling Vimana with perfect precision, Gilgamesh darted left and right like golden lightning, slipping between the falling trunks and branches.

"Hahaha! Now that's the King of Heroes!"

Iskandar burst out of the grove, heading toward his next challenge.

"Careful, Goldie! Next comes rocks!!!"

Massive boulders began to fall, the force even stronger than before.

"Tch! Just a few rocks—what's the big deal!?"

Unfazed, Gilgamesh raised her hand.

Come forth!

Behind him, the golden glow of a Noble Phantasm emerged from the Gate of Babylon.

With a brilliant flash, the weapon obliterated the boulders ahead into dust!

Even those that weren't in his path weren't spared—shattered by the overwhelming power of the Gate.

This was the true might of Gilgamesh—the King of Heroes.
