A strong wind rose, and sand and stones flew! All the armies charged toward Gilgamesh.
Facing the vast and mighty enemy, Gilgamesh was not flustered at all. To be precise, she was a little happy. How long had it been since she had encountered an opponent worthy of her drawing her sword? This King of Conquerors was worthy of her treasures making an appearance!
"Having dreams! That is good behavior! However! Poor fellows! Your unrealistic dreams should wake up now!"
The space behind Gilgamesh rippled once more, but this time, what appeared was not a pile of Noble Phantasms, but the apex of the Gate of Babylon—a red sword!
"Die! Iskandar!"
Gilgamesh took out the sword, but this sword was very strange. On its hilt, three blades were connected in a spiral shape, and they were constantly rotating! Though it could hardly be called a sword, the powerful magical energy within was not just for show!
"Now! Iskandar! Your dreams should wake up!"
Gilgamesh placed Ea in his hand and raised the sword high. Infinite magical energy surged within the constantly grinding blades...
Seeing the bizarre scene before him, a sense of crisis filled Iskandar's heart. But as the King of Conquerors, he would not retreat!
"Warriors! Charge!"
The army charged forward at full speed. Even if the opponent could unleash one devastating attack, after that, the battlefield would be theirs!
What Iskandar considered was how to withstand that single strike. What kind of Noble Phantasm did his opponent wield?
An Anti-Army Noble Phantasm?
An Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm?
Finally, magical energy erupted from Gilgamesh's hand!
"Ea, the time for your appearance has come! They have waited for a long time!"
Ea—in ancient Mesopotamian mythology, the god who ruled the earth and water, the "heaven" and the "middle."
The "Sword of Rupture" bearing this name was the primordial blade that witnessed the great creation of the mythological era. Its purpose was to cleave apart the chaotic heaven and earth, giving them definite form.
This was the Sword of Creation! This was the instrument of destruction! Now, heaven and earth would be remade!
"See! Behold my true Noble Phantasm, Iskandar!"
Enuma Elish!
The sky wailed! The earth cried out!
Magical energy and primordial laws manifested before everyone from Ea! This power was enough to annihilate everything!
Gilgamesh merely moved the sword lightly—
Yet, in that instant, the sky split open! The earth quaked! Abyss after abyss yawned beneath their feet!
"What?! No!"
The abyss gaped beneath Iskandar. He spurred his warhorse into a desperate leap, barely evading the chasm. But the abyss continued to expand, swallowing his soldiers one by one.
Not just the earth—the sky was torn asunder by lightning! Destructive tornadoes raged, reducing all to nothingness!
"How is this possible?!"
Iskandar stared in shock. Even his indomitable spirit wavered before this devastation.
This sword did not merely destroy men—it annihilated the world itself! Heaven and earth lost all color! The ground crumbled into oblivion!
This was no Anti-Fortress or Anti-Army Noble Phantasm—this was an Anti-World Noble Phantasm!
One strike—and the world was unmade.
One strike—and the world was reborn.
Darkness swallowed everything, leaving only Gilgamesh's golden radiance.
It was as if they had dreamed. Now, the dream ended, and reality returned.
Only the whirling blade of Ea in Gilgamesh's hand proved it had been real.
The Ionian Hetairoi had vanished. Iskandar's final Noble Phantasm was gone.
Waver looked at him in despair.
Iskandar spoke slowly.
"Waver—there's one question I've yet to ask you."
"What?!"
"Waver! Will you become my vassal?!"
Tears welled in Waver's eyes. The answer had always been in his heart.
"I, Waver Velvet, pledge my loyalty once more to Iskandar, the King of Conquerors! I shall be the sharpest sword in his hand! The sturdiest shield!"
Iskandar laughed heartily.
"Good! Excellent!"
He turned, leaving Waver behind.
"As my vassal—spread my glory to the world! That is your task!"
His first and final command:
"Live on! Let the world know the might of this king!"
Waver said nothing. Iskandar took his silence as assent and roared to the heavens:
"Set out! Begin!"
The King of Conquerors charged forward, knowing victory was impossible. But how could he know without trying?!
Before him stood the mightiest of foes—a man who could destroy the world! The final trial of conquest!
"Light always shines in the distance! That is why Iskandar conquers—to surpass it!"
Gilgamesh unleashed Noble Phantasm after Noble Phantasm—ten, twenty, thirty, forty—countless golden stars streaking through the sky.
Amid the onslaught, Iskandar's excitement grew. He had doubted his dream—how foolish! Now, it lay before him!
Then he would scale this towering peak!
Step by step, his dream drew nearer. But the wind howling past his ears brought realization—his beloved steed had fallen, its duty fulfilled.
Undeterred, Iskandar pressed on. In his heart, only the boundless azure sea remained—the primordial ocean of the world's dawn!
"Hahaha! Hahaha!"
He laughed madly as he ran. Blood stained his body, but what did it matter?! The enemy was before him! One more strike!
"Hah!"
Victory seemed within grasp—
Then time froze.
The Chains of Heaven—the fetters that once bound the Bull of Heaven—now held him fast.
"You've quite the collection," Iskandar remarked wryly, watching the sword pierce his chest. Relief washed over him.
"Well? Do you understand now?"
"Hahaha!"
It felt like returning to the days of his youth, brimming with dreams. One last time wouldn't hurt.
"Fascinating. This battle has taught me much."
Gilgamesh nodded.
"You are a warrior." The highest praise. "I will accept your challenges again."
"Haha! How thrilling!"
Iskandar gazed at the sky, felt the presence of his loyal army behind him, and faded with contentment.
---
At Tokiomi Tohsaka's residence, the moment Iskandar vanished, Arthur sensed a surge of magical energy—the Holy Grail was manifesting!
"Farewell, my friend." Arthur drained his wine. "Holy Grail, at last you appear. Then I shall witness your power firsthand."
The time had come for Arthur to act!
---
On the bridge, Waver witnessed the war's end. Mere seconds had passed, yet it felt like an eternity.
Gilgamesh approached, eyeing the trembling boy.
"Are you Iskandar's Master?"
"No. I am his vassal." Waver stood his ground despite his fear.
Gilgamesh noted the missing Command Spells. Recalling Iskandar's final surge of energy, she understood.
"Strange. As his vassal, do you not wish to kill me to fulfill his dream?"
Waver swallowed hard. Showing fear meant death.
"If I tried, I would die!"
"Correct."
"I cannot die yet. My duty is to proclaim the king's glory. That is my mission."
Gilgamesh studied him, then spoke:
"Then uphold your loyalty. Do not fail your king."
With that, she departed. A Masterless child posed no threat—mercy was granted.
Alone, Waver collapsed to his knees, legs numb from tension. But he would endure. He had to live on!
The bridge fell silent. Only ruins and Waver's tears remained.
The King of Conquerors, Alexander the Great—Iskandar—had fallen.
