Chapter 24: Four-Star Dou Practitioner? Not bad

In the quiet room, Gu He sat with his eyes tightly shut, fully immersed in absorbing the flood of information swirling in his mind.

Half an hour later, his eyelids fluttered slightly, and he slowly opened his eyes, a look of astonishment flashing across them.

Initially, Gu He had little interest in the poison-making. However, after absorbing the knowledge recorded in the Ten Thousand Poisons Sutra, his perspective shifted entirely. It seemed that becoming a master of poisons could be quite intriguing.

The Ten Thousand Poisons Sutra not only detailed the preparation methods of numerous bizarre poisons but also contained many secret techniques related to their use. Mastering these skills would allow one to eliminate enemies invisibly, making it nearly impossible for others to guard against.

'This is good stuff!' As Gu He thought about the countless poison formulas and secret techniques now stored in his mind, a faint smile crept onto his face.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and soon, the flying birds and beasts arrived at the imperial capital. Just before reaching the capital, Gu He didn't wait for the signal to stop. Instead, he scooped up the Little Doctor Fairy and flew straight toward the Misty Cloud Sect.

The Misty Cloud Sect was situated on Misty Cloud Mountain, which lay only a few dozen miles from the imperial capital. The two locations stood like towering giants facing each other, separated by a short distance.

Gu He, carrying the Little Doctor Fairy in his arms, made his way toward the snow-white mountain that pierced the sky at the horizon.

For Gu He, covering tens of miles was a matter of mere half an hour.

"Disciple, this is the Misty Cloud Sect," Gu He said, looking down from the sky at the Little Doctor Fairy in his arms.

Hearing this, the Little Doctor Fairy's beautiful eyes immediately turned downward. What greeted her gaze was an endless stretch of bluestone steps, winding from the foot of the mountain all the way to the peak. At first glance, it looked like a ladder leading straight to the heavens.

"Wow, what a tall mountain! This is the Misty Cloud Sect?" The Little Doctor Fairy's eyes sparkled with awe as she couldn't help but exclaim in admiration.

Gu He chuckled and flew directly toward Mystic Cloud Mountain with the Little Doctor Fairy in his arms.

At the end of the long stone steps, shrouded in clouds and mist, lay a vast square paved entirely with massive stones. The square exuded an air of simplicity and grandeur.

At its center stood a towering stone tablet, inscribed with the histories of the previous sect leaders and those who had made significant contributions to the Misty Cloud Sect.

"Hey, look! Who's that?"

"Who dares to fly over the Misty Cloud Sect?"

"That seems to be Elder Gu He!"

"Oh, that's alright then!"

Gu He's direct flight to the Misty Cloud Sect with the Little Doctor Fairy naturally drew the attention of many, sparking waves of discussion.

Deep within the Misty Cloud Sect, atop an attic, Yun Yun gazed at the white-clad figure in the void, a trace of curiosity flickering in her beautiful eyes.

"Elder Gu He has been away from the sect for almost a month, and now he's returned... with a girl? Who is she?" Yun Yun wondered aloud.

At that moment, the soft sound of footsteps echoed behind her.

"Teacher, what's going on?" A voice, as clear and melodious as an ancient bell, rang out. The speaker was a woman dressed in an elegant moon-white gown, her long sleeves flowing gracefully to the ground.

A light silver belt cinched her slender waist, accentuating her graceful figure. Her jade-like hands, creamy skin, and delicate smile exuded an air of refinement, though there was also a hint of aloofness that kept others at a distance.

A pair of green jade pendants dangled from her earlobes, emitting a soft, melodic chime with every movement, like the gentle sound of a mountain stream.

"It's Elder Gu He. He's back," Yun Yun replied, turning her head to glance at the woman behind her. "Yanran, the Qi Gathering Powder used for your recent breakthrough was refined by Elder Gu He himself. Tomorrow, as your teacher, I will take you to pay your respects to him in person."

The woman who had appeared was none other than Yun Yun's disciple, Nalan Yanran.

"Understood, Teacher," Nalan Yanran replied, her beautiful eyes filled with respect as she gazed at the white-clad figure in the sky.

As the sect leader's personal disciple, many of her cultivation resources had come from Gu He's hands, so she naturally held him in high regard.

"Ah!" Suddenly, Nalan Yanran let out a soft exclamation, her eyes widening in surprise as she noticed the girl in Gu He's arms. "Teacher, why is Elder Gu He carrying someone in his arms?"

"Perhaps she's Elder Gu He's new disciple," Yun Yun speculated. If that were the case, she might need to prepare a welcoming ceremony for the visit.

"Yanran, how is your cultivation progressing lately?" Yun Yun asked, shifting her attention back to her disciple.

A smile spread across Nalan Yanran's pretty face as she replied softly, "Teacher, I've broken through to the Four-Star Dou Practitioner level."

"Four-Star Dou Practitioner? Not bad," Yun Yun said, her eyes showing satisfaction. However, her tone turned serious as she added, "Since you've made a three-year agreement with Xiao Yan, in the battle three years from now, as the young sect leader of the Misty Cloud Sect, you are only allowed to win, not lose!"

Nalan Yanran's expression grew resolute. "Teacher, don't worry. I will definitely not tarnish the prestige of the Misty Cloud Sect in that battle three years from now." Her voice was firm, and as she thought of the talent of the boy she had once been engaged to, her heart swelled with confidence.

'Xiao Yan, in three years, I will make sure you lose.'

"Yanran, don't worry. Just focus on your cultivation. As for resources, your teacher will ensure you have everything you need," Yun Yun said, a satisfied smile gracing her pretty face.

"Understood," Nalan Yanran nodded. As the young sect leader of the Misty Cloud Sect, she had never lacked cultivation resources.

[**Changed Master to Teacher**]

"This is where your teacher lives," Gu He said as he landed in a secluded courtyard deep within Misty Cloud Mountain, still holding the Little Doctor Fairy in his arms.

"Teacher, will I be living here from now on?" The Little Doctor Fairy asked, her beautiful eyes sparkling with excitement as she took in the exquisite and tranquil surroundings.

"If you wish," Gu He replied casually. "You can choose another place to live, or you can pick a room in this courtyard. It's spacious enough."

"Then I'll live with you, Teacher," the Little Doctor Fairy said without hesitation. In the Misty Cloud Sect, she only knew her teacher, and living elsewhere would feel unfamiliar and uncomfortable. Besides, living with her teacher would make it easier to ask questions.

"Hehe, it's up to you, as long as you're happy," Gu He said fondly, gently ruffling the Little Doctor Fairy's hair.

"Teacher! Teacher!" At that moment, a voice called out from outside the courtyard.

A moment later, a young boy rushed into the yard, his face beaming with excitement. "Teacher, you're back!"
