Chapter Twenty One: Blood and Silence

Turned away from Jin.Disappearing into the early fog.

But then—she stopped.

Stood still.

And slowly… reached into her coat.

Jin narrowed his eyes—Only to realize too late.

A gun.

She spun around, eyes cold behind the mask.

BANG.

The shot echoed like thunder.

Jin's body jerked back.Hit the pavement hard.Chest heaving—breath shallow.

Blood.

Dark. Spreading. Fast.

She raised the gun again.Walked toward him slowly.

"I told you," she whispered."Lisa died. I don't hesitate."

She placed her foot next to his body, standing over him.

"You chose the wrong side."

Her finger curled for the second shot—

CRACK.

A sniper round tore through the air—Smashed the gun clean from her hand.

The weapon spun into the street.

She stumbled back, hand bleeding—eyes wide beneath the mask.

"What—"

Another round landed just inches from her foot.

A warning.

Not a kill.

She looked up toward the rooftops.

And saw him.

The Black Commandment.

Kai Ren.

Sniper rifle in hand.Eyes locked on hers like crosshairs frozen in time.

From the corners of the city—Engines roared.

Blacked-out SUVs.Armored sedans.Motorcycles with no plates.

All lining up in perfect formation.

Doors flung open.Soldiers in black sprinted out, securing the perimeter.

One of them dropped beside Jin, checking vitals.

"He's alive, sir! Bullet passed clean—missed the heart!"

"Good," Kai Ren's voice boomed over the comms."Stabilize and extract. Now."

Nyxara stood frozen.

For the first time, shaken.

He spared me.

She turned her gaze upward again.

Ren was gone.

Only the smoke from the barrel still drifted on the rooftop ledge.

The soldiers carried Jin's unconscious body into the SUV.

And still… he didn't order them to arrest her.

Why?

She didn't wait to ask.

She ran.

Turned into the alley, cut through side streets.Heart racing—but not from fear.

From confusion.

From something she didn't understand.

In the SUV, a medic tightened the bandages on Jin's chest.

As the convoy roared through Paris, Ren spoke coldly into his wrist mic.

"Get him to a secured ward. No visitors. No cameras."

He looked out the window as the fog thickened again.

"And tell the hospital…"

"If she shows up—don't stop her."
