Void Knights Selection

The sun rose slowly over the horizon, its golden light bathing the island of Voidreign in a radiant glow. Seagulls cried in the distance, and the wind carried the salty tang of the sea across the vast construction grounds. From high above, in the floating Celestial Garden Castle, Jessie sat alone at a round stone table beneath the towering boughs of the Azure Ocean Tree.

Steam rose from his cup as he gazed out into the distance.

Below him, the island buzzed with tireless energy.

The seawalls—monolithic defenses of glistening stone—encircled the entire island like an unbreakable halo. Built by hundreds of skilled workers and empowered by the Unlimited Materials Jessie had claimed, these walls required no worry about shortages. Gold, adamantine, voidstone—materials once rare and fought over were now abundant, summoned by a mere thought.

Jessie watched the workers as they chiseled, and reinforced the walls. Despite the scale of the construction, not a single soul looked weary.

In the distance, a different marvel began to take form: the central marketplace. Less of a market and more of a colossal mall-like structure, it stretched wide and tall, a future hub of trade, culture, and unity. Jessie could already imagine its corridors filled with life—merchants peddling rare wares, chefs cooking exotic meals, travelers sharing tales from distant lands.

"As expected of Kaelor Brimstone," Jessie murmured with a nod of approval. "Efficient. Visionary."

A warm breeze passed through the garden, fluttering his coat. With deliberate calm, Jessie rose from his seat and descended toward the lower courtyards of the floating castle.

Beneath the shade of silverleaf trees in a quiet grove near the castle, Shirahoshi stood with curiosity in his eyes. Jessie approached him, holding a small, crystal vial filled with glowing azure liquid—the Super Soldier Serum, it was reward from the system in the past.

"Drink this," Jessie said simply.

Shirahoshi blinked. "What… is it?"

"A gift," Jessie said, offering no further explanation.

Trusting Jessie without hesitation, Shirahoshi uncorked the vial and drank.

The transformation was instant. His body tensed, veins glowing faintly for a heartbeat. He fell to one knee, gritting his teeth as power surged through every cell in his body. Then, like a storm breaking, she rose—taller, stronger, faster. Her muscles tightened, her senses sharpened, and the very air around him trembled with latent strength.

Jessie's lips curled into a smile.

"You've already reached the Pseudo-Admiral level..."

"You need to train your power. The Azure Ocean Tree will guide you."

Shirahoshi nodded.

He turned and walked away, leaving Shirahoshi to process what had just happened.

Farther along the island's eastern shore, a massive drydock was alive with movement. Hundreds of craftsmen worked in unison, forging ship after ship from Adam Wood, summoned by Jessie's limitless material supply. These weren't ordinary vessels—they were royal warships, crafted for the elite order soon to be born: the Void Knights.

Each ship bore an emblem of a serpent coiled around a tree—Voidreign's new insignia. Above it a black flag marked with a panda wearing a cowboy hat.

Civilians and soldiers alike turned as Jessie approached, offering bows and respectful nods. They had begun to accept him not only as king—but as the foundation of a new era.

He offered them a quiet nod in return, but his focus shifted ahead—to the field where the first Void Knight Selection had begun.

In a broad, open clearing encircled by flowering stone trees, Lady Myrra stood tall and commanding. Her silver armor gleamed under the sun, her expression sharp as she addressed the line of a hundred chosen candidates. Each had been vetted—loyal citizens, warriors, former pirates, hunters, and mercenaries. All were willing to lay down their lives for Voidreign.

Beside her stood Kuina, arms crossed, observing in silence. Her cold stare judged every candidate, assessing their potential with a mere glance.

When Jessie arrived, a hush fell over the field.

"King Jessie!" one of the candidates cried, followed by a chorus of voices.

"My King!"

Jessie lifted a hand in greeting, eyes sweeping over the warriors. "You are the first. The chosen. The foundation of the Void Knights."

He turned to Kuina. "Where are Vash and Black-Eye Panda? They were meant to be here."

Kuina's brows furrowed. "I haven't seen them. Only Uta might know."

Jessie extended his Observation Haki across the island in a surge of invisible energy. Nothing. Vash, Black-Eye Panda… even Meruem—they were gone.

"Troubling," Jessie murmured. "But not unexpected."

He left the field and made his way toward the festival stage near the western gardens, where music and laughter echoed under the afternoon sun.

There, standing before a cheering crowd, dressed in a flowing crimson dress, was Uta. Her voice soared across the island as she sang, enchanting everyone who listened. Her melody wrapped around the hearts of the people like a warm embrace.

Jessie approached silently, waiting at the edge of the stage. Uta spotted him mid-song, gave a playful smirk, and finished with a graceful bow. As the applause died down, she walked over to him, hands on her hips.

"What brings the great king to my humble concert?" she teased. "Here to admire me? Or request a duet?"

Jessie's face remained unreadable.

"I'm looking for Vash, Black-Eye Panda… and Meruem. They're gone."

Uta's teasing expression faded into one of mild concern. Then she chuckled softly.

"Ah. That's what you came for. And here I thought you wanted to sing."

Jessie didn't smile, but she could feel the amusement behind his stillness.

"They told me earlier today," Uta said. "They're heading to the neighboring islands. Meruem believes we're being watched."

Jessie's eyes narrowed slightly.

"By who?"

Uta leaned closer, whispering so only he could hear.

"World Government agents. Observing from afar. Watching Voidreign grow."

Jessie stood still, his gaze fixed on the distant sea.

"Let them watch," he said at last. "The moment they set foot on my land, I'll know. my Observation Haki at its max. Nothing escapes me here."

Uta nodded, trusting him completely.

With that, he walked away, his coat fluttering in the breeze as he ascended the stairs leading back to the floating Celestial Garden Castle. From there, he watched the kingdom below—its ships, its walls, its people.

Voidreign was no longer just a sanctuary.

It was becoming a power.
