"Anti-gravity blast spell looks like someone can't cast High-ranking spells yet," I said to myself while examining my body to see if sustained any damages. Anti-gravity blast is a d rank spell that most mages use if they have low Magineum left in their systems but need to get something out of the way in short notice.
It makes sense why she would use such a low-cost spell due to robots not being able to produce Magineum, So I at least have the advantage of having more of an arsenal as she does, but for now I must think of a plan real fast.
I began to quietly walk down the path because most likely that spell casting robot will be after me soon. I managed to sneak some distance away from my original area, I made the choice to sit here and take a breath for a while as I began to think of my next move.
As I was resting, I began to hear some wheels quickly approaching my location, at first, I was going to hide behind one of the trash hills, but then I remembered that there was only one robot down here that was on wheels. Roby then zipped around the trash hill in front of me but was moving so fast that he accidently ran into me and knocked off balance and crashed into a trash hill.
"You move fast for a little guy," I said while helping Roby out of the trash pile and back onto his wheels. One I got him back on his wheels he then reached on his back and pulled out the arts of blood book and handed it to me, I must have dropped after that robot sent me flying. I examined the book's cover and noticed something peculiar about it, The Books author didn't have a full name on the it, what it had instead was 2 Initials which were S.N.
The book was also black with blood stains all over which had me discouraged, not because of the blood stains but the fact that this book could be what I think it.
I opened it and immediately wanted to chuck the book into a trash hole, this is blood mages spell book. I didn't even know there were spell books for blood magic but low and behold I managed to get my hands upon this book out of millions of other spell books in the world.
The reason why I was so mad about getting my hands on a blood magic spell book was because blood magic was the newest and hardest form of magic to learn and use effectively, the reason of that is because of instead of you using magineum, you instead use blood for the fuel of spells. That may sound like a good thing due to your body having more blood in your body than magineum but the thing is it's so hard to do, let me explain.
Two things are needed to use blood magic, the amount of blood your using, and the type of blood you're using. What this shows on its pages is the amount of blood required in order to cast one spell, and when it shows blood type it doesn't mean like A+ or A-, It means either Animal, human, corrupt, and legendary.
Let's just say I would like to cast my favorite spell allusion (don't ask) and I wanted to use blood as fuel to cast it. I would need 1oz of animal's blood to cast that spell, but there is one Mager problem with that, where would I get animal blood in the middle of a battle. And even if I brought blood along with me, there would also be the problem with separating the amount of blood you need to cast the spell in such a small-time window of a life-or-death fight, sure you could practice, and it would be easier to do with time. Why take the time to learn something so limiting when you could just magineum which is always with you inside your head.
That's when it finally hit me, I quickly sat down and began reading the book after realizing this might be the best form of magic I could possibly learn with my current condition. I slowly examined the pages of the book and began realize that this book is somewhat off, like what it's showing me was the basics of how to use the blood to cast D tier spells but that's where it ends, like literally, there are no filled pages for any other ranked spell past the D ranked formulas and spells, all it said past the D ranked section was this.
The rest of the book is yours to fill out.
"Why not just give me the rest of the formulas," I sighed while looking at the ceiling of the trash hole in disappointment. I then looked back at the book to examine the previous pages only to notice that the Sentence had changed.
Stop being lazy and just do it.
"What the heck, am I tripping," I said while looking at Roby who was digging through a trash hill. I shook my head for a second, then looked back at the book to see if I saw what I just saw only for me to see that sentence has changed again.
No, you are not tripping and also look for the rat on your way out.
"Wait what rat, hold on," I yelled while standing up in confusion, but as soon as I blinked, the sentence was gone, but this time there was no other sentence replacing it. After opening and closing the book a couple of times, I Finally decided to reach into my bag and pull out the Key Item I'm going to need in order to Cast this blood magic, Lycanthropes blood.
Well, the correct turn would be Anamorph, But Lycanthrope is a more recognizable turn for the condition. Lycanthropes are Humans who are able to physically turn themselves into somewhat of a human beastlike state, the most popular example would be a werewolf, But the most common one would be a wererat (Due to a, you know, rats being so much of an invasive species).
The reason I have this vial of lycanthropes blood is because Lycanthropes have an enhanced healing factor that the world uses to create Healing tonics and potions, Most Lycanthropes usually donate their blood for some free cash due to them being able to Donate more than a usual person should be able to.
The reason I have this blood right now is because Lycanthropes blood classifies as 3 types of blood, which is animal, human, and Corrupt. But the problem with this is that I only have one vial of it which holds about 1 ½ cups which would give me about 12 low D ranked spells to cast. As I was going over the book on how separate the amount of blood needed to cast a spell, I heard something walk toward our location.
I quickly got up and was going to test out the functions of blood magic, But I managed to stop myself last minute due. The reason I had stopped was because the robot that was walking towards us was not Washer, the robot instead was the robot with the ladder that me and Pazzo launched a while ago.
"Command in progress, Error, initiating previous commands, Error, no data found from previous chain of command found, Self-destruct protocol initiating in 45 minutes," The Robot announced while stiffing up its posture and standing straight up. Well, that's one last robot to worry about, most robots are built in with a code to self-destruct once they can no longer move or their mainframe gets hacked so they can't be used by the enemy and gain any intel.
I then sat back down and began to study the book, after a minute of focusing on the details in the book, I heard a loud drilling noire I heard a loud drilling noise come from the robot. I quickly turned around to what was going on and saw that Roby was now tinkering with the robot and managed to somehow got its control unit hatch open on its back.
"What the heck are you doing," I said while getting up and running over to him. I ran around the robot and saw that Roby managed to not only open its back hatch, but somehow managed to open its data and hard drive ports in just the very little time it took for me to get to him after he got done drilling. I stood there and watched him work on the robot, He didn't really do much, all he did was insert some cords to the robots Insert ports.
Roby picked up the Insert ports that were attached the ladder robot and handed them to me, at first, I was confused on why he handed them to me, but then I realized why and proceeded to lift my gauntlet and flip it on its forearm. I then took the Insert port and inserted it into the gauntlet.
After I put it in, the screen on the gauntlet immediately lit up and started showing Images and numbers of the robot, After the Images and codes were done uploading on the screen is when Roby grabbed my arm and started examining the whole screen.
Once Roby got done examining the screen, He began to start pressing on the screen a couple of times which somehow caused the robot to comeback online. The robot didn't do anything Tho, all it did was just stay in place and made very little movements. After a couple of seconds of the robot being still frozen in place, I looked at the screen myself to examine what Roby was even trying to do.
I began looking for a few seconds at the screen and noticed what Roby was trying to do, Roby was trying override the robot and change its chain of command to the gauntlet. At first it seemed like a good idea to take control of the by making the gauntlet one of the chains of command but there is one problem with that, it's a gauntlet, The gauntlet can't give out commands and Robots usually do exactly what you tell them to. Which means if I told them the gauntlet is there only chain of command, they would literally wait for the gauntlet to verbally give them a command despite the gauntlet being a nonverbal object.
After examining the screen for a couple of minutes I began to fiddle with and just changed the chain of command from the gauntlet to me, after putting my information and profile After putting my information and profile onto the screen of the Gauntlet, I proceeded to upload the info into the robot's hard drive. Nothing happened for a second, at first, I thought I just didn't send it right, I finally looked back at the screen and saw that I needed to put down some more Information, Like the Bot type I want it to be.
I began scrolling down the list of robot types there was to choose from, what it means by robot types is more of what is the robots job. There is actually a bunch of options choose from, like an engineer, medical, Mechanic, Scribe, Archer, front assault, ETC. I continued scrolling down the list of jobs that the robot was able to learn and do, after scrolling for a minute I finally stopped at one that got my attention. The job that had gotten my attention was the job called Commander, Commander robots are robots that are able to relay strategies to other robots and troops by themselves without any other person telling them to.
Commander robots are exceedingly rare and require a lot of hardware, so much hardware in fact that the cost to make 1 Commander robot is over 1,000 gold coins at least. After I saw the job option, I immediately picked it, After I picked it, the robot then began to make sounds of a computer turning on for the first time, after a minute of it making that nose, the robot finally responded.
"Chain of command established; New Job assigned; Error, Current job cannot be downloaded, sending job into adaptive hard drive, Job will now be learned with time," The ladder bot reported as it unstiffened its posture and began to stare at me.
"Dang it, Olwell I guess that job is more of an investment than a straight income," I said to myself while tapping the robot on its head with my gauntlet.
"Alright robot, state your name," I commanded the robot.
"My designated name is 16356743," The robot announced.
"first of all, that's not a name that's a serial number, second of all, I'm not calling that," I said while looking around to see if anything in the area can describe this robot. I continued looking around to place to find a name for the robot and managed to lock my eyes on the ladder the robot was still holding, and finally an idea came to mind.
"I'm changing your name, your name now will be Escalate," I said with enthusiasm hoping the robots programming can do at least that much.
"Name changed to Escalate, Awaiting orders," The robot said while still not breaking eye contact with me.
"Power off permanently," A voice said behind me. Once I heard that voice I immediately dived to the ground, as soon as I hit the ground a green orb flew over my head and hit both Roby and Escalate. The Orb sent them flying was the same spell she used on me which sent them both flying, I quickly got up and threw an impact mixture at the ground beneath her feet which launched a bunch of trash in her direction, She managed to quickly dodge out of the way off all the trash and began charging up a spell.
"You love spamming that spell don't you," I said while loading up a spell in my gauntlet.
"Could say the same thing about that mixture," Washer said as we both casted our spells at the exact same time. I casted Magic Paralyzation orb which shoots an orb that instantly paralysis the person it's hit for 2 seconds, it's not that great at causing damage, but it's amazing at creating openings. Both of our spell's collided with each other which caused them to explode into some form of magic gas which blocked our view and gave me time to prepare to concentrate.
I took a deep breath and began to Focus on thinking about slow things in life, like snails, and waiting in the room until a doctor arrives for a checkup. After thinking about slow things, I opened my eyes, and everything around seemed to have stopped moving, even the smoke cloud at were the spells collided. Alright this gives me all the time in the world to plan out my next move and prepare the blood for spell usage, The reason why everything is moving slowly isn't because I casted a spell around the area or anything like that, It's more of the fact that I can make my brain process so fast that the world is at a standstill.
I don't know how I'm able to do this or what this ability even is, but all I know is that an ability like this has many uses, like separating the amount of blood needed for a spell or thinking up a clever lie on who broken the printer in the lobby.
When I was reading the Arts of blood, it said that even though blood magic takes to get right, its casting speed is near nonexistent, once you get the amount of blood you need to fuel the spell casting it is the easiest part if you already know magic. Your also able to load multiple spells to use later instead of needing to refocus on the amount of blood needed for another spell, here's an example.
Let's just say when you use normal magic your load up a musket, A musket can only be fired one time vs If you use blood magic it's more like you are loading a revolver which is able to fire off repeatedly until you have to reload again. The thing is blood magic takes more time to load up than normal magic and is also a lot easier to mentally cast the spell than blood magic which is why blood magic is so much harder to master.
That's why I think blood magic would be the best magic for me to learn due to me not being able to naturally produce Magineum, But I can naturally produce blood, and I have a lot of that so it would be a good idea to use this form of magic.
I began to mentally load up and the specific spells I need to win this fight which took me about 1 minute from my perspective. And once I was done loading up the spells in my head, I once again began to focus on thinking, this time I thought on things that moved fast, like cheetahs and 15-minute naps. Once I got done thinking of that, time began to go back to its regular paced.
As soon as time went back to normal, I immediately put my plan into action by summoning an illusion near me on my right then quickly sneaked around the fog and readied my gauntlet at the smoke. The smoke lasted for about 15 more seconds and before the smoke even cleared completely another green magic orb was fired through the smoke and hit my allusion that I put down.
The green orb hit the ground near my allusion and exploded which caused my allusion to evaporate in a red mist that quickly went away. At first, I was worried that washer would have suspected that it was an actual Illusion, but the smoke must have blocked up her sight to much because she immediately began to gloat to herself.
"I know people freeze up in their first fight but the least the stupid girl could have done was get out of the open," Washer laughed to herself while spinning her staff around. I then casted paralyzing orb at her while she distracted, but right before the orb hit is when popped out of my hiding spot and gave away my position just gloat.
"Says the one who also didn't move from their current location," I yelled while casting light Magic star at her. Washer quickly turned around to where I was and tried to dodge out of the way of the Paralyzing orb, but it was too late. The Paralyzing orb hit her square in the chest which paralyzed, which made her unable to dodge the Magic star that I casted at her.
The magic star is the highest D ranked in the book, even though the spell is a d rank doesn't mean that it's power out is weak, the spell does do reasonable amount of damage. But I also realized something when reading the arts of blood, even though the spells I'm using are D ranked spells, doesn't mean they have to be. What I mean is the way Magic Star works is the fact that it forms into a destructive fast-moving ball of light that's destructive power is measured by the amount of magic you put into the spell. Thats why I put almost all of the blood I had into that one spell because out of all the spells I know how to cast, that spell would be my most powerful one.
The Magic star hit Washer Square in the chest and launched her in the air. The hit managed to do a lot of damage to her while she was flying, reason I know this is because during her flying, her arm fell off and almost hit me head.
"Alright, it's time see if those 2 robots are alright," I said while beginning to walk towards the direction that they flew in but as I was walking, I felt a sharp pain enter my shoulder. I looked over to my shoulder in confusion to see what the problem was only to see some type of tin sharp piece of metal lodged in my shoulder.
I grasped my shoulder while beginning to breath hard due to pain and began thinking to myself, how did this pole even get lodged into my shoulder the robot didn't even hit before I casted those two spells. I quickly turned around to see what hit me and saw that I wasn't the only one with a trump card up my sleeve.
Not only did washer comeback from that spell I hit her with, but she was also somehow floating in the air even though she had sustained such critical damages. I then suddenly felt the piece of metal begin to move out of my shoulder slowly at first, but as washer flew down closer the quicker the piece of metal exited my shoulder no matter how tightly gripped it.
Thats when I noticed that it wasn't just the metal in my shoulder that was going back to her, I was all the metal I just blew off her all going back to her body, she was repairing herself. Before the piece of metal that was stuck my shoulder flew back to her, I tried to keep from getting to her by grabbing it but all I was able to do was bend the metal before it gotten back to her.
"I'll give props owl; you have a lot of potential with magic due to your intelligence, but it seems like you running low on the blood in your vial," Washer said as she was slowly descending and the metal that coming back to her was quickly reforming on her body. But all the metal was reforming on her body I spotted something, the piece of metal that was in my shoulder that I accidently bent finally made it to her and attempted to form up with the rest of the other pieces, but it didn't fit properly. Not only that, due the other pieces of metal also trying to put it itself together on the bent piece of metal it caused a small part on washers' arm to appear swollen like a not.
I then began to think of a way I could possibly win, I only have 2 ounces of blood left which is only good for one spell, a wounded shoulder which needs to be treated before it becomes a problem, and 7-8 mixtures left but none of them are able to deal with this robot for good. The smart thing to do would be to get some help and come up with a strategy but I don't have anyone else with me, the only other person who might be able to help me is...
"Please tell me that's not all owl, because if it is maybe, you can just except defeat, and I'll just let Master Abel deal with you," she said while continuing to slowly descend her way to me. I reached inside my bag and saw the remaining amount of blood I saw and had an idea. A really sucky Idea, one I would never even consider doing conceptually, but this situation calls for Extreme measures, or more accurately monstrous measures.
I then popped off the top of the vial bottle and proceeded to drink the rest of the blood that was in it. Once I got done drinking it all I then felt my sanity quickly slip away and my body slowly forming into something I never want to become. I dropped down to one knee due to the weird feeling in my body, then suddenly my body felt lighter and the pain in my shoulder felt a little better as if my body is trying to numb the wound.
" Ew, you do know you can get a sickness from that right," Washer said in disgust as she finally made it to the ground. Before I could think of a mixture to bring out, loud crashing sound came from the far direction of where I came from, I looked over to the direction trying to see what that was only to be staring into the eyes of a rat that was pointing at the direction of the crash.
I was confused at first because, you know, why is a rat looking dead in my eyes and pointing at the sound of the crash. But that's when I realized who was most likely responsible for, That's the reason I began to run to direction of the crash.
"Hey, don't run away we.... Jesus Christ your fast," Washer said as she was trying to catch me. I looked back to see how far she was behind me only to realize that I somehow ran so fast in such a short amount of time that she was know where to be seen anymore.
"Let's see if Pazzo is having better luck than I am fighting his robot," I said before taking off whole lot faster than what I prepared for and managed to run headfirst into a small trash hill.
