Chapter 8

"Your taste has always been impeccable. Normally, I wouldn't want anything someone else has touched, but what can I do? I absolutely adore the item you've picked out. Waiter, check please!"

With a casual wave of her hand, she called for the waiter to settle the bill.

Chase walked in just in time to witness this scene.

It had been a while since I'd seen him, and Chase looked even more haggard than I had imagined.

Not only had he been suspended, but the hospital wasn't even paying him his previous wages.

They said he had offended the hospital's investors, and that not making him pay damages was already doing him a favor.

I knew this was Grandpa's punishment for him.

I was also waiting to see Chase get his comeuppance. Anything that can be stolen is trash.

Chase was like that, and so were material possessions.

If Felicity wanted it so badly, I had no interest in fighting her for it.

I couldn't even be bothered to give her a glance, turning to leave immediately.
