Chapter 20: No Escape

She had given in.

The moment her lips parted for him, the moment she stopped resisting—it was over.

Dante didn't hesitate.

Didn't pause.

Didn't give her a chance to change her mind.

He deepened the kiss, sealing her fate.

And she—

She let him.

Her fingers curled into his shirt, gripping it like it was the only thing keeping her standing.

His hands were everywhere—her waist, her back, tangling in her hair.

Holding her in place.

Holding her together.

A deep, satisfied growl rumbled in his chest.

A predator pleased with his catch.

But when he pulled away, barely an inch, his voice was a low, dangerous whisper.

"You finally understand, don't you?"

Kavy's breath was shaky. Her thoughts scrambled.

She should have said no.

Should have denied it.

Should have pushed him away.

But she didn't.

Because she knew it was useless.

He had already won.

And she had already lost.

Dante's fingers tilted her chin up, forcing her to meet his gaze.

His eyes burned with something dark. Something dangerous.

"Say it."

Her throat went dry. "Say what?"

His smirk was slow. Predatory.

"That you're mine."

Kavy's pulse pounded.

She should have fought.

She should have denied him.

But instead—her lips parted.

And in a voice barely above a whisper—she surrendered.

"I'm yours."

Dante's smirk disappeared.

Replaced by something far more dangerous.

A silent, primal satisfaction.

A claim that could never be undone.

His grip on her tightened.

"Good."

He pressed his lips to hers again.

And this time, there was no hesitation.

Only possession.

Only dominance.

And Kavy?

She knew.

There was no escaping him now.

There never had been.
