Chapter 24: No Way Out

She had spoken the words.

She had given in.

And Dante wasn't about to let her forget it.

His kiss burned against her lips, slow and deliberate. Not gentle. Not hesitant. Absolute.

Kavy's hands pressed against his chest, but he didn't move. Didn't flinch. His grip tightened on her waist, his touch searing through the thin fabric of her shirt.

"You think I'll let you take it back?" His voice was low, taunting.

She refused to answer.

Her pulse pounded, her breath uneven, but she wouldn't give him more than she already had.

Dante chuckled, eyes dark with amusement.

"Still pretending?" His fingers trailed up her spine, slow and possessive. A warning.

Kavy clenched her jaw. She wouldn't play his game.

Wouldn't admit how deep she'd already fallen.

Wouldn't acknowledge the fire he ignited inside her.

Dante gripped her chin, forcing her gaze to his.

"Say it again."

Kavy's throat tightened.

She shook her head. No.

Dante's smirk faded. His hand curled around the back of her neck, his thumb pressing lightly against her pulse. A silent command.

"You think you can fight me?" His voice was softer now. Dangerous.

Her nails dug into his wrists, trying to pull away. Useless.

"You already lost, Kavy."

Her stomach twisted.

Because deep down, she knew it was true.

Dante leaned in, his lips grazing her jaw. Barely a touch. But it sent a shiver down her spine.

"There's no escaping me." His breath was warm against her skin. Temptation and torment woven together.

Kavy's body betrayed her. The way she tensed. The way her heartbeat stuttered.

Dante smiled. He felt it.

"Good girl."

And just like that—

She was his.
