Chapter 28: The Edge of Desire

I felt her tremble beneath me.

It wasn't from fear. Not anymore.

It was something else—something far more dangerous.

Kavy was at war with herself, torn between the pull of what she wanted and the battle she was still trying to fight. But with every move I made, I could feel the walls crumbling.

Her resistance was thin now, brittle.

And the taste of her lips, the soft warmth of her skin beneath my hands, it was a drug—one I was addicted to, more than I cared to admit.

I pulled away just enough to see her face, to study the subtle war within her eyes.

"Stop fighting, Kavy." The words were low, demanding.

She shook her head, but her breath was shallow.

"I can't... I won't give in to you." The words came out strained, almost as if she wasn't even sure she believed them herself.

I smirked.

"You've already given in, sweetheart. You just don't realize it yet."

Her eyes flashed with defiance, but there was a flicker of doubt, a crack in her armor.

And I was going to exploit it.

I slid my hands down her body, feeling her stiffen beneath me. Good.

Resistance. It made the game far more exciting.

But I wasn't just playing anymore. I was laying claim to something much bigger than a body. I wanted her. Every inch of her. Her mind, her heart, her very soul.

She was mine.

Kavy's eyes met mine, still defiant, still fighting, but now there was something else—something dark and dangerous brewing in her gaze.

"You think you can control me?" She spat the words, her voice laced with anger.

I leaned closer, my lips brushing against her ear.

"Control is a game I'm very good at, Kavy."

Her body shuddered against mine, and I could feel her pulse quicken. I knew she wanted to push me away, to make me stop, but I could also feel the subtle way she was surrendering.

The subtle way she was craving me, just as much as I was craving her.

It was there in the way her breath hitched. In the way her fingers dug into my skin when I pressed myself against her, her body betraying her every time.

"Please..." Her voice broke, softer now, barely a whisper.

It was enough.

Enough to send a rush of heat through me, enough to make every thought I had disappear.

I claimed her mouth in a kiss, hard and demanding. She fought it at first—of course she did—but then, like always, she melted beneath me.

Her arms wrapped around my neck, pulling me closer as if she couldn't get enough. And I knew, without a doubt, that she wanted this. Wanted me.

And I was going to make sure she knew it.

I deepened the kiss, my hands moving over her body, pulling her against me. There was no room for hesitation now. She was mine, and I was going to show her exactly what that meant.

There was no more resistance in her touch. Just desperation. Need.

"Let go, Kavy." The words slipped from my lips, soft but demanding.

She hesitated for only a moment before she did, surrendering entirely, her body melting into mine as if we were always meant to fit together this way.
