Kavy trembled in Dante's grasp, her body betraying every ounce of resistance she had left. The heat was unbearable now, consuming her from the inside out.
She couldn't escape it.
Couldn't escape him.
Dante's fingers curled under her chin, tilting her face up to meet his gaze. His touch sent a shudder through her, the bond pulsing between them like a living thing.
"You're fighting a battle you've already lost," he murmured. "Why keep pretending?"
Kavy's jaw tightened. "Because I won't be like you."
Dante chuckled, dark and knowing. "Oh, little wolf… You already are."
Her heart pounded as his words sank in. She wanted to deny it, to spit in his face, to run.
But she wasn't human anymore.
Not fully.
Her body ached for something she couldn't understand, something primal and relentless.
Dante stepped closer, his breath fanning over her lips. "Say it, Kavy."
She shook her head, but he didn't stop.
"Say you need me."
Her body betrayed her first. A sharp gasp escaped her lips as the hunger inside her surged, tightening in her chest.
Dante smirked, satisfied.
"There it is."
Kavy's fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt, torn between pushing him away and pulling him closer.
She hated this.
She hated him.
But she needed him.
And that terrified her most of all.
