Chapter 40: A New Beginning

Kavy's breath hitched as the world around her blurred. The bond that connected her to Dante was no longer a mere thread; it was a force that surged through her body, binding them together in a way that felt both like salvation and damnation.

Her body felt strange, her skin tingling with a power she had never known. The hunger inside her was unbearable, but this time, she didn't fight it. She let it consume her, let it take root in her very soul.

Dante's eyes locked onto hers, watching her with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. "Good girl," he murmured, his voice rich with approval. "You're finally understanding your place."

Kavy swallowed hard, her throat dry. She didn't know what was happening to her, but one thing was clear—she was no longer the person she had once been. She could feel it in every part of herself.

"What's happening to me?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Dante's smirk was dark, his eyes glowing with an almost predatory satisfaction. "You're becoming what you were always meant to be, Kavy. You're a wolf now."

The words should have terrified her, but instead, they filled her with a strange sense of purpose. She had been running from this moment, from the undeniable truth of what she was becoming. But now, she couldn't deny it any longer. She had accepted it.

"But I'm not like you," she said, the words trembling on her lips. "I don't want to be like you."

Dante's gaze softened, but the darkness never left his eyes. "You don't have a choice."

She clenched her fists, trying to control the surge of emotions that threatened to overwhelm her. She could feel her instincts rising, the primal side of her fighting to break free. She was changing—physically, mentally, emotionally.

"What do I do now?" she asked, her voice barely more than a whisper.

Dante stepped closer, his presence a constant pull that was both comforting and terrifying. He cupped her face gently, his thumb brushing away the tear that had slipped down her cheek.

"You let go," he said, his voice soft but commanding. "You let the wolf inside you take control. You let me help you become who you were always meant to be."

Kavy closed her eyes, feeling the pull of his words, the weight of everything she had learned, everything she had resisted. She wanted to fight, wanted to scream that she wasn't ready, that she wasn't this. But the hunger inside her, the beast inside her, was too loud to ignore.

When she opened her eyes, Dante was right in front of her, his lips almost brushing hers.

"Trust me," he murmured, his breath warm against her skin. "Let go of your fear. Let me show you what you can be."

And for the first time in what felt like forever, Kavy surrendered. She let the beast inside her take over, let the bond between her and Dante guide her, and she kissed him back with the same fiery need that had been building between them since the very beginning.

The change was happening. She could feel the shift deep inside her, the transformation complete. She was no longer just a human caught in a dangerous world. She was something more.

And it was all because of him.

Dante pulled her closer, his hands moving to her back, pressing her into his chest as if to claim her once more. The connection between them was electric, crackling with a power that felt like it could tear the world apart.

But in this moment, Kavy didn't care. She didn't care about anything except the overwhelming pull between them, the undeniable desire to give in to everything he was offering.

In that moment, she was his.

And somehow, she felt like she always had been.
