It was time for me to go to the nightmare archives. I thought about leaving my newly adopted family alone, but I didn't want Felidae to be alone, so I took her with me. I began to chant, "THE NIGHT BELONGS TO ME, I BELONG TO THE NIGHT," and the portal opened gently. We stepped in together.
As we were walking, she asked me what I was chanting. I said to her, "It's some sort of door." Then she mouthed, "Okay." Looking back at it, I realized I didn't know her name, so I asked, "I know it's a little late, but what is your name?" She said to me, "I don't have a name, mister, but my creators called me AS-1001." That made me mad, and I cursed the scientists or doctors or whoever gave her that name. I said to her, "That's not your name. I will give you a name, but you have to promise to call me Jeremiah because that's my name." She nodded her head. I pondered for a while because I wanted to give her a meaningful name, and I decided to name her Felidae. I came across the name from a song I heard. It was about a little girl called Felidae who had a beautiful voice. I said to her, "Your name is Felidae." She smiled and said, "Felidae, thank you. My name is Felidae." And I said, "That's right."
I decided to walk with her to the nightmare archives. We finally got there, and it was a huge building, as tall as a skyscraper and extremely wide. I knocked on the door, but no one answered, so I attempted to open it, and the door opened slowly.
As I was walking around and observing, I saw some people reading and studying diligently. I then went to the counter and spoke to the library attendant. She was a female in mage-like attire, with elven ears and a dark complexion. I said to her, "Excuse me," and she cut me off, saying in an uninterested tone, "How can I help you?"
I said to her, "Um, I was directed here by a colleague. I would like to find some materials containing information about the abomina—" Then she cut me off again, speaking in a slightly fearful voice, "I'm sorry, I can't help you with that. You'd have to go to the archives upstairs, but beware, the archives upstairs will not allow you to pick your desired book. It picks and chooses books according to your destiny."
I thanked her and said to Felidae, "Come on, let's go."
We walked upstairs together, and as I entered the library, I heard a voice, and the doors shut themselves. "Welcome, Jeremiah." I looked around, and no one was there. I shouted, "Who's there and how do you know my name?" The voice replied, "Didn't Evelyn tell you that I am the archive of all knowing and the deity of knowledge?" I said, "Um, no, and I came here to get knowledge about—" The voice interrupted, "The abominations, I presume?" I replied with a relieved voice, "Yes, that's correct." The voice continued, "Close your eyes and open them."
I closed my eyes as instructed, and when I opened them, I saw three books in my hand. I thanked the voice and opened the first book, but the pages were blank. I said to the library, hoping for an answer, "The pages are blank." The voice replied, "He who has ear, let him hear. He who has voice, let him speak. He who has a soul, let him feel." Suddenly, alphabets and characters began to appear on the blank pages.
I tried to read them, but they made no sense to me. Before I could ask, the voice continued, "Ah, I see. You are a mix of human and vampire. You are a dhampir." Then the voice said, "I will read and explain the contents of the book for you." The voice continued, "The three books in your hand were given to you based on the direction of your destiny. One of them contains information about the abominations, the other about Aloka, the ruler of shadows, and the last one is for the little girl over there." I said to the voice, "Oh." The voice added, "I can only read the book about the abominations to you. I cannot read the other two, as they are for you and that girl alone." The voice continued, "The abominations are twelve entities. They are deities like me and possess great magical constructs. They could not stay in this realm because their magical construct was enough to destroy the whole realm of Yommir City. So, they all came together and made a decision to create a sacred realm for themselves, which is above us. But before they left, they all left fractions of their power, which is called the abomination essence. These were randomly obtained by certain individuals, and they ended up taking the original abominations' titles. My knowledge has been updated, and it appears that there are now nine abominations left."
Before I could speak, the voice continued, "There is no need to hide anything, Jeremiah. One was murdered by you. I can see his blood on your hands." I replied, with a guilty tone, "Yes, I had to, but what about the other two?" The voice answered, "One is dead and was killed by another abomination. The second one is both dead and alive. That's all the information I can give you." I thanked the voice and opened the second book, titled "The Guide to Noctomancy." The book contained information about noctomancy, but I read it, and it didn't make much sense to me. So, I gave it back. As soon as I opened the third book, it disappeared from my hands. The archive said, "Time's up." I took Felidae's hand and thanked the archive and Evelyn as I walked out.
I went to a secluded place and chanted the invocation, "THE NIGHT BELONGS TO ME, I BELONG TO THE NIGHT." Then the portal opened, and I gestured for Felidae to go in first. As I was about to step in, I felt the direction of the wind focus on my leg and pull me up, flinging me aside. I managed to minimize the damage of the fall by flapping my wings. As I looked up, I saw a female floating without wings, drifting slowly toward me.
